      sporemum:

As to why the sch has lost some of its popularity, well there are such a wide array of choices now - the IP, SAP schools, NUS High, SOTA etc. So it's not a wonder the educational landscape has changed significantly from the past.
secondary school landscape is certainly unrecognisable since the 90s with IP/IB/SOTA......but SAP schools have been around since the 80s though...

But are these 980-1000 all uni bound? or even 50% of them?

I've nothing against girls lah. Just :?

Already there are more girls than boys in NJC, DHS. Ratio is like 2:1.
Does this happen to RVHS too?
Seems like the new JC will also have this kind of ratio.
Someone is this thread also posted he heard for VJC ip Sec 3, 1/3 fr VS and 2/3 fr girls sch like CGS?
hello, all the boys are in HCI, RI, SJI, ACSI, CHS ......of course girls go to NJC / RV / DHS if they can't get into SCGS/St Nik/NYGH/RGS/MSG ....

Girls outperform boys in PSLE and O-level. Apart from ACSI and NUS High, girls outnumbered boys in the top ten jcs.

Erm, I’m talking about JC section when RI will merge with RGS, HCI will merge with NYGS. If their intake in Sec section is about the same, then the ratio in JC section will be abt same.

However, new JC will get 2 parts from girls sch and 1 part from CHS?

Thats why I feel more girls are uni bound compared to boys.
If like that then Gahmen may have more to worry about our country birth rate?

Those schools got no jc fit ma. If you want to fit nice nice find 8 schools, 4 boys, 4 girls.

You must take into account the number of girls entering RI and HCI thru joint dae after o-level.

                      Right!

RI / RGS each intake = 450, so x2 = 900, but A level cohort = 1200, so O level intake is 300, plus ASEAN scholars etc...so the 300 also can be balanced based on normal distribution

                      same for HCI / NYGH

Since INNOVATE also pointed out that girls usually outperform boys in ‘O’ level, then JC intake fr ‘O’ or Jt DAE may have more girls too.
