7 New IP schools

You are right. For those few who are placed in O Level class in Sec 3, if they do well in Sec 3, I understand they can return to IP classes, even before taking O Level. Not necessarily in JC 1.
No. They do not run dual track. All are 100% IP from Sec 1 onwards. However, if they do badly in year 2 / 3....they will be asked to go do O level. May be RI does not create an O level class because the drop out is almost nil, hence the rare ones got transferred out. For HCI, they promised the parents to take care of the kids once they are in HCI regardless how they perform, they are more \"merciful\" to create a small O level class for their own boys. Many parents have noted that HCI is a very caring community. If the HCI O level boys do well, they can get back into the IP...by then JC 1 liaotanbh:
sorry , i saw your posting and i always assumed since RI and HCI is so high in COP, ALL their sec1 intake are 100% IP students... do you mean HCI and RI have O level track (i.e. classes) to fall back on also??? :? making them dual track schools similar to the new ones?? sorry, i havent been reading much on IP on the 1st batch of IP schools  ... thanks -

Could well be cos' CHS is a SAP school
\"misfit\" because CHS has been a SAP school, while the rest of the Cath schools are notWay2GO:
Wat's CMI? :scratchhead: ....
correct me if i am wrong
dat many of d students I met then were effectively biligual
n they were also strong in Maths.
d rest of students from d other mission schools mostly eat katang
though there was a miniority who were good in MT.
They used to laugh at these students n call them 'Chinese helicopters'
d CHS students I met were mostly quite well off
n they carry themselves well.
But they n Maris Stella students were quite a misfit with d rest
cos' d katang eating bulk view them as ching-chong. -

I recall my CHS friends were also called 'chinese helicopter'......
LOL .... hope don't get sued for saying all these jokes ....LOL -
Augmum:
yes, of course i am aware and heard of them......but these are only the very MINORITY
even for the present IP school like RI or HCI, if don't do well, kena transferred to O level track, or worse, get kicked out of school. NOT unheard of.verykiasu2010:
does it mean that choosing a \"so called IP school\" but in the end is not a certain/ gurantee to be in the \"IP class\"
then i reckon there will hassles/problems of \"transferring school issues\"
and the pupils themselves are aware of it long before.......
just like one pupil in my gal's class kena \"warnings\"
what i mean is the initial happiness/ thoughts of getting into a \"so called IP school\" w/o getting into a \"IP class\"
Hi Augmum,
I would guess that before the IP programme is implemented in the dual track schools, the schools will give an idea of what the COP for IP is. For eg at ACSI, >25? (not sure what the COP is currently) will give you a spot in IB, anything below that is O level track. So students shouldn't be too surprised or shocked that they aren't in the IP track. -
