Hi, will be SAHM soon. just wonder whats your daily schedule like eg. what to cook for kids and family. what you teach your kids in the afternoon. Please share

      Hi Darius,
My kids are in morning session - K2 and P4. Mornings after they go off to school, I do housework on some days. Lunch is a soup with meat and vege. Sometimes if lazy to cook, then buy 1/2 chicken or duck from downstairs.

Plan a time-table for the whole week, so that your kids know what to do in the afternoon. For eg English on Monday, Chinese on Tue, Maths or Science etc etc.

          Hi Darius,

Sometimes I wish I can escape from the both of them, esp when they fight. :frustrated: But when I have a chance to be away from them, I miss them. Contradicting right ?

Find a chance to plan a weekly time-table, then you will be able to establish a system, from homework to rest to TV. All the best πŸ™‚

But anyway, I am a SAHM..I am really happy DH wanted me to do so also, as I think I will make a lousy mum if I work, will be stressed up and end up shouting more..but being a SAHM also very challenging..I agree with what some of you have been saying, you feel that your child's failure becomes your fault cos stay at home, still cannot do well, only recently..I learn to 'kan kai' more.

Any thoughts on how to manage better and also have a 'life' more so that we dont get too wrapped up in our kids and get a bit 'irrelevant'? Any mum face this?
            hi jasmineone,
πŸ™‚ i am a perfectionist, so i cannot accept less than perfect commitment either for my work or my family hence the stress built-up when i was a FTWP is immense (at times when my kid was sick and i have an impt deadline to meet, my kid came in second priority cos my mind rules my heart...so you can see the heartache here). so i'm very glad that my DH is very supportive of me as a SAHM too.

i have also kan kai on how my kids' performance may be independent of my commitment to them, so long i have done my best; this mentality actually reduces conflicts at home. πŸ™‚

what can i say? my life revolves around my kids 24/7. they give me purpose in life. i was irrelevant and a workaholic before they came along, so i am enjoying my moment now. πŸ™‚

Hi everyone, I was reading a number of your posts and kind of got 'addicted'. I really wonder why ksp is so good it is addictive, I find myself going to it at 3 plus in the morning :scared:

              Hi Jasmineong

I also started to kan kai recently after being a SAHM for over 4yrs now. I started attending art lessons (though its with my DD). At nite, after all kids settled, will go out with DH for supper/drinks. But I still find it hard not to be too wrapped up with them as I am the main caregiver (with help from my maid). As for being irrelevant, not much of a choice really but DH will always share with me his encounters at work which is very relevant to today's society as he meets a variety of pple in his work.

                  Hey jedamum,
Same here, same here! I also was very chiong work and neglected my kids cos everytime I work, I must be perfect..in the end, I was very stressed too as I felt kids got more distant.

Ya, actually if there is a chance of being a SAHM, I feel we should really take it cos after a while, kids all grown and if we do not spend time with them now, then later, the relationship not close anymore, it will be very hard to build..
