CJS:
Thanks . ^^
There is a gym, 2 sports hall, a 400m track, basketball court, badminton court and a high enclosure court where you can play all sorts of ball games without ball flying out of bounds.livewith_vanilla:
Could you tell me what are the various sports facilities they have there?
Thanks.

Hi CJS,
I visited the campus during their open house last year. I like the spaciousness compared to some other secondary schools. The school is very well renovated the I like the design of the buildings. Overall, the learning environment in the school is very conducive.DadOfGirl:
Any one has update on Cedar as it has moved to new campus?
Do you know anything about the culture there, how is the environment for learning like, I heard horror stories of some girls going to good schools but getting influenced to start BGR and hanging out till late at night. -

The school emphasises a lot on teamwork. Most of the girls' school projects are team based and lots of leadership programme training. My dd likes the school so much tat she did not even want to try DSA for IP schools this year.
Hi CJS,

This year, my dd is attending the talent development programme which is offered to the top 20% in the level. This will continue into S3 & 4 if she continues to remain in the top 20%.
My dd says the principal is very pleased with being selected to offer the IP from 2012 where the girls will journey into VJC as VJC is seen as the top 3 JC in Singapore after RJC and HCJC.
As for the girls turning wayward, I dun hear stories like tat from my dd. My dd herself is still very well behaved and typical of the modern teenager. She is glued to the PC once she comes back from school either for school projects or assignments, and of course, facebook and wat nots.
BTW most of the school's homework are done online. She hardly has hard copy worksheets to complete at home.
Hope this helps u in ur decision in deciding a secondary school. Let me know if u want to know more. I got all this info fr my dd just now. -
Just wondering, is Cedar Girls far from Sengkang?
Iām interested in this school.
Any nearest MRT Station or direct buses from Sengkang? -
livewith_vanilla:
Cedar Girls nearest MRT is Potong Pasir. It is within walking distance from the station. It is not far from Sengkang. In fact, my dd's best friend in school stays in Sengkang.Just wondering, is Cedar Girls far from Sengkang?

Hi CJS,
Seems that their COPs may increase due to their newly acquired IP-dual status status and their revamped school campus:
2009-246
2008-244
2007-244
2006-247
2005-246
2004-245
Is it true that they have a separate sports class throughout the 4 years? Including the sports class, is their intake capped at around 9 classes x 40 students for Sec 1 intake? Is it compulsory for every student to wear tie on a daily basis?
Quote from Cedar's http://www.cedargirlssec.moe.edu.sg/cos/o.x?c=/wbn/pagetree&func=view&rid=43420:
\"The school tie is to be tied neatly at the collar with the first button fastened.\"
Considering the fact that it will take about another 10 to 15 min to walk into Cedar from the Potong Pasir's MRT station passing by the private properties........is it inconvenient on a rainy day or a hot sunny afternoon for the students?
Thks for your answers.

It's not really a sports class. There are pupils who are good in sports in almost every class. But there's 1 class in sec 1 and 2 for pupils who came in through DSA and their PSLE score is lower than the CoP. Usually the DSA class only has around 20 pupils. So the intake would be roughly 8x40, excluding the DSA class. Is it true that they have a separate sports class throughout the 4 years? Yes, it is compulsory for us to wear tie on a daily basis. It is inconvenient on rainy days, but sunny days are ok, just that we get really sweaty. -
