Sorry if this question have been asked and answered,

180 pages to large a volume for me ( busy dad ) to browse thru

Can parents share how do you/ or your children select which CCA to participate? what are the challenges one may face?
the sweat and labours encountered during the training and finally a well deserving satisfaction/ rewards…

      thank you

Best to follow your child’s interest - then they can perform and sustain their participation thru the Full 6 years in primary school.

Or if your child is of inquisitive nature - Let them try something they have not tried before, U might find out they have hidden talents U don’t even know of!

My DD tried Gym CCA when she’s in P1 (never do Gym Before) - and she’s been representing Pei Hwa from P2. Still love the CCA till now. She’s in P5 now.

But prepared to invest both time and money though, especially if your kids are involved in the school team. DD spend 3 afternoons training after school, and extra class in external Gym every sat afternoon - due to the lack of facilities in school.

Ytd, my P3 boy told me Mrs Foo gave a talk last Fri, saying the sch will be moving to a holding sch in 2012 and there is to be some expansion going on at the existing site so that the sch can go single session.

Ask him moving to where or for how long, he said he did not know (maybe Mrs Foo did not mention?)

          Anyone heard sth similar?

My son didn't tell us anything about this, and 2012 is the year he will be sitting for his PSLE.

If this is true, then it's bad timing esp for the P4. Hopefully the holding sch is nearby 😞 . I always thought they are reducing P1 intake as a means to go single session?

                Hi Jennifer/markfch,

I think it's bad timing for any child sitting for PSLE during the temporary period. Hopefully the temporary school is nearby. Foresee this to happen, instead of building school just for P1/2 which is :siao: in my opinion.
Aiyoh, where is that holding school ?

CHIJ Toa Payoh will not be moving to temporary holding school in Geylang Bahru, now I hear Pei Hwa moving instead. What a joke. 😢

                  Hi Mummies,

I just called MOE hotline. Someone will get back to me regarding the location of temporary holding school. Will update you all then.

I think there is only 2 possibilties :-
                    a) Old Bukit Timah Primary School at the end of Jln Jurong Kechil. However, it is occupied by an international school currently unless they shift out before 2012. This place was a holding school for Pei Hwa before during the 90s.

                    b) Old MI campus at Toh Tuck, just beside existing Bukit Timah Primary School. This place is normally holding school for secondary level, just don't know whether is it suitable for primary school.

I called the school to find out more...guess what ? The admin staff said they are not informed about this. Really wonder what is going on. Is it possible for principal to inform the students and not the staff picking up the telephone ? :?:

Let's wait for other parents to find out from their children first what exactly Mrs Foo said last Fri.

I wont fault the gen adm staff, once I called n told the staff in Mandarin my P3 boy's class, the staff asked me what's that class in English

Before the Swim safe prog was conducted, I called the admin phone line to speak to Mr Tan (HOD CCA), the staff also had no idea what I was referring to (SwimSafe prog).

I believe some admin staff really do only admin work, without knowing what's happening in the sch.
