jedamum,
The chinese book has oral passages, picture for discussions, topics for discussion. Good quality pics. The oral passage is in chinese characters, with helping words (in chinese character, hypy and english translation behind). I guess this would be ok for p2s but for p1s (like my dd1), reading the passage in chinese character could be a problem. Also the answers to picture discussion is very detailed (good for parents) but may be too chim for a p1 kids. Guess kids who attended chinese enrichment classes may be more use to such things. Overall it is a good guide book …time for me to ‘up’ dd1’s chinese standard…heeheee… -

sounds good!
with helping words (in chinese character, hypy and english translation behind). .

Jedamum,
There's another one which is this..
If you prefer something with an assisted CD-ROM.

P1 Chinese Oral And Listening Comprehension With CD-ROM
Author : Hui Ying Lao Shi
Publisher : Educational Publishing House
Level : Primary 1
Item Code : 9789814235907
Usual Price : S$16.90

Another simpler version - P1 Chinese Oral Booster is also
available at Popular. Same shelves as the other Chinese
oral guide books. No pix for this one. It has orange cover.
Black and white pages inside. Has relatively okay-okay
pictures. The same oral passage opens up both sides
and the tester's page has the hanyu-pinyin help at the
bottom/below the sentences. The picture discussion
pages offer simple short phrases relevant to it - in a small
column. But no English translation.
The Chinese Oral Book by Raffles looks the same as the
English ones only text are in Chinese. Hehee..
That's why easy for keekee to grab both! -
