Tackling Oral Examination
-
dilemma:
You are very welcome, sweetie!Hi Buds and CSC
Thanks so much for your valuable advice. Will check with the class teacher if model drawing is compulsory.
I bought the Elementary for Oral Techniques yesterday too. Think it is very good. Buds, thank you very much for your recommendation.
Like Chief said, we only recommend the best here!
One of my frenz like to say, \"Good things must share...\"

buds:
No, better than what we got from her teacher.Better than the one i posted up ya, schellen...?
Mebbe not so clear when transferred electronically?
Ermm, YES! Its the pictures i really like!
Like jedamum said, the practise ones sch
gives are the relatively blurred ones and
you're right to say that its due to hand me
down reasons and also bad photocopying..
(master-photocopy print out archive)
I also like that the book gave me some
questions to prompt just in case my kiddie
got stuck pausing for thought too long...
I cover the prompt-questions during my
practise with her... and also have the
relatively a-lotta-stuff-pictures scanned
and blown up on A4 paper for better
referencing.
Happy trying!
*Oh schellen, i have another one. Just bought.
*Putting it up now...
I also like it that there are sample passages of different genres.
Tonight must mug already cos she'll be with my in-law's for the weekend and oral starts on Monday! -
schellen:

jedamum,
The chinese book has oral passages, picture for discussions, topics for discussion. Good quality pics. The oral passage is in chinese characters, with helping words (in chinese character, hypy and english translation behind). I guess this would be ok for p2s but for p1s (like my dd1), reading the passage in chinese character could be a problem. Also the answers to picture discussion is very detailed (good for parents) but may be too chim for a p1 kids. Guess kids who attended chinese enrichment classes may be more use to such things. Overall it is a good guide book …time for me to ‘up’ dd1’s chinese standard…heeheee… -
keekee:
sounds good!
with helping words (in chinese character, hypy and english translation behind). .
possible to post the pic or the ISBN no. for me to do a check on popular's online store? thanks..cos i only have like 5min to grab a book and pay at the counter before ds2 starts pulling stuff off the shelves. -
Jedamum,
There's another one which is this..
If you prefer something with an assisted CD-ROM.
http://www.postimage.org/
P1 Chinese Oral And Listening Comprehension With CD-ROM
Author : Hui Ying Lao Shi
Publisher : Educational Publishing House
Level : Primary 1
Item Code : 9789814235907
Usual Price : S$16.90
NOW : S$15.21 -
Another simpler version - P1 Chinese Oral Booster is also
available at Popular. Same shelves as the other Chinese
oral guide books. No pix for this one. It has orange cover.
Black and white pages inside. Has relatively okay-okay
pictures. The same oral passage opens up both sides
and the tester's page has the hanyu-pinyin help at the
bottom/below the sentences. The picture discussion
pages offer simple short phrases relevant to it - in a small
column. But no English translation.
The Chinese Oral Book by Raffles looks the same as the
English ones only text are in Chinese. Hehee..
That's why easy for keekee to grab both!
