I think my daughter in under STELLA program, but she did not bring books home, and their teacher did not bring them to the library. School ask parents to get more story books for student reading, i'm being headache about the books.

I saw a few books sold in Popular under STELLAR program - but I did not browse through them. .

I saw those \"Stellar\" Books that you mentioned in the Popular.
However it is not the same as the one the kids are using in the School for the Stellar Program.

For Term 1, my boy's school are using the following BIG books:-
      Mrs Wishy-washy
      Dan, The Flying Man
      Walking Through the Jungle
      To Town

Not only they get to read different book. Every book will cover different Theme, learning Objectives, ....etc
Everytime they completed 1 BIG book, the class teacher will have them bring back all the worksheets (Grammer, Vocab, Listening Exercise, penmanship exercise, writing skill, reading...etc)

            Dear All,

I noticed that Radin Mas Primary is using STELLAR program. How can we check whether the school is using STELLAR program?

The school website should say so or you can call the school to ask.

                Just wondering... :?

I remembered my teacher reading Mrs Wishy Washy to the class when we were in Primary 2. That was in 1987.

Is it the same book???

If it is.. wow that is a very very old book...

                    Hi plum-cake

Take a look at this for general information. There's a resource page - check out the pdf attachment (on the right) in the parents' section. It may help you to understand more about the programme.

                        Hi everyone,

                        Yes, do visit the link
                        http://www.stellarliteracy.sg/
(Click on \"Resources\" heading and select \"For Students\", you will find
all the BIG BOOK titles there, but only games, they do not publish the
                        content of the BIG BOOK)
                        and also
                        http://www.edpstellar.blogspot.com/
which is Endeavour Primary's Stellar blogs, captures student activities
                        during their Stellar lessons.

These BIG Book books are BIG in size only available in school. Teachers
will tell the story to the class with these BIG books and tackle keywords
and vocab/grammar related to this story. Spelling words are the keywords
extracted from these stories. The Big Books were actually on display
during one of my girl's parent-teacher meeting (P1).

On top of \"workbooks\" designed by the school for each story theme, they
also have related activities like eating ice-cream, having a picnic during
class time to reinforce what they learned in the various stories.

From P2 onwards, they may have outings to enhance on what they learn
                        in class.

No need to spend money on textbooks/workbooks if your school is using
STELLAR progam. Get your own preferred assessment books for general
                        revision if you wish.

If anyone is interested, I can post the list of the BIG book titles my girl
has completed this year (P1) for your reference (please ring a bell).
However, not the same titles are used for all schools on STELLAR,
teachers are allowed to pick and choose from a given pool of titles.
But I found out that 90% of the titles are the same.
