Plan B would be to go to a nearby your house school in 2C. If you cant get balloted into the catholic school in 2B (Im assuming you live out of 2km) - then there's no way you can get in in 2C (cos in 2C, balloting for SJIJ and MS are for those who live 1 to 2km)
Hi, any idea on whether baptised catholics get to register at 2B?i.e. either parent or child with baptism cert, not both. Hmmm but what if we have 2 schools which we want to register for at 2B? E.g. if I went to SJIJ to register but dont get a place, then what would be my Plan B?
So, my Plan B this year was to go to the hse near my house cos i live out of 2km for MS. But, since i got balloted in, didnt really tot abt Plan B liao. -

may be they have yet to comply with MOE guidelinevicki:
all pri school are supposed to have class size of up to max 30 kids for P1 & 2, as per MOE requirement
When i was registering my boy at MS - i tot i saw a sign that said that each class has about 35 or 36 pupils.
not sure when is the dateline for compliance though......most of the SAP schools are already doing with 30 per class for P 1 & 2. P3 onward is still 40 / class
Im wondering aloud - Does this mean sooner or later, MS will cut the vacancies/ opening for P1 intake?? -
Renting a place and staying there to register for P1 is legal. But renting and not staying there is illegal. If found out by MOE, the consequences are shameful.
Recently, someone mentioned to me about using my address to register her child for P1. I’m shocked that she has such an intention and so does her mother :!: To me, it’s like 幼的不会想,老的也一样. Told my hubby about it and he hit the roof :x -

are they in single session already ? -
verykiasu2010:
the extra one or two could be due to transfer in. standard size for P1 & 2 is 30. That is why their P1 registration intake is 390 = 13 classes x 30 each
In other words, the school can choose to take in extra children after the P1 registration? -

exceptional cases may be
i know my son's class has more than 40 (P 4to 6) ....... -
For P1 and P2, the class size is maximum 30. But from P3 onwards, some classes may combine and allocate students based on subject-banding. Last year P3, son had 40 classmates.

Yes, I have checked with SJI junior and St Gabriels, and they both only require parent's baptism cert to register at Phase 2B.okay that is correct
for schools seldom ask for the kids' baptism - it is usually based on parents' church membership
What are the chances at Phase 2B? Just wondering...any past year's statistics? -

Grateful for any views from parents on this:
I am moving to within 1km of a popular school that I am targeting to enrol my ds in. The school is likely to require balloting within 1km.
However, it is my parents who look after my kids in the day, and they live 1-2km from the school.
Obviously when I am registering, I would prefer to use my own address as it is within 1km, and I legitimately live there. But as I prefer to go for school transportation, will the school question why my ds is sent to the 1-2km address, and will they accept my explanation?
