      qms:

Of course it makes a difference!

If you don't clock at least 40 hours or the min. length of time stipulated by the school, you don't qualify under P2B.

What I was saying is this. Assuming the school requires you to clock 40 hours to qualify for P2B. If you perform 40 hours (i.e. the minimum just to qualify for P2B), and you stay within 1 km from the school, you will not be at an disadvantage compared to another parent staying within 1 km from the school, but has performed 60 hours of PV work. Clearer? :scratchhead:
I get it now, thanks so much qms for trying so hard to explain PV's finer points with me. Haha, I have never done PV before but now must try to chiong for younger one.

        tokyo:
        any information abot TKP

        Hi tokyo,

My older boy is in TKPS, I am not putting my younger one in there as I want a school that is a bit more academic for him, in the sense that it pushes him academically. For TKPS, I feel they do not do that enough. However, what I like about TKPS is the wide range of CCAs, they have bowling, cricket, golf.
And there are many students there from Korea, from all over the world actually so DS gets to interact with them, I like the multi-national feeling.

But I still wish it is more chiong in studies like Tao Nan, so it depends on what you want.

Do you know how early we can start doing PV? Must all the house be clocked in one year or can be be spread over 2 years?

Was your child born in 2005? If so, it's too late to apply for PV now. Application is now closed for those registering next year.

ALAMAK!! too late, I thought since he is in K1, there is still time.
So wasted. Now looks like I must pump with tuition like DS1.

Thanks qms, anyway. too bad I dont have a third child if not I will
know what to do next time, sign up for PV when he is 3!

              No worries!

However, do take note that, based on this year's registration, there was balloting in Ngee Ann Pri. for those staying 1-2 km from the school during Phase 2C.

Since you will be in P2C, you might like to register your second child in TKPS in P1 next year, and monitor the take-up rate in Ngee Ann before you make your final decision.

As a rule of thumb, you apply for PV when your child is 4 years old, perform PV work when your child is 5 years old and register your child for P1 when he is 6 years old. There are exceptions to this rule, too (e.g. Nanyang Pri.). Even though you are late for your second child, you can still advise your friends, right? šŸ˜‰ Tell them that you learned this through this forum, too!

What could be better than word-of-mouth publicity? :dancing: :imcool:

With more publicity comes more recognition. Who knows, KSP.com will be able to offer more to parents in future with heightened recognition from more people. :celebrate:

to introduce my kakis to this forum but actually many of them are already here šŸ˜‰

Hi I am new to the forum and was reading this thread wondering why CHIJ Katong Primary (opposite TNS) is not listed as one of the schools under marine Parade?

That's a million dollars question that only MOE can answer.
