I'm ok with anything. I also have a dog at home but we'll place the hamsters away from her. My hubs is worried that she might eat them up

My boy very gentle with animals one. He loves them. Refused to go home when I brought him to the goat farm!

Hi mrswongtuition, if u really want it, I will just let the babies grew up n then pass them to u when they are ready...maybe ard 2 weeks later...is good to pass to someone who luv small animals.. Both the daddies N mummies are white with a little grey....they are both small size....I really cannot afford to keep all of them since we have a poodle at home too...just sent our maid off on thursday n I'm already so busy.....HappyAvon:

cages and accessories-- you are most welcome to come and rummage
through my stuff take wat you need FOC.

Hi carebear, thanks for the advise....we will separate the male from the female. I will still go back n ask the pet shop whom we bought the 2 hamsters....we had asked for 2 males n did state clearly we do not want them to mate....haiz, really give us trouble...so did u manage to put up yr bavy hamsters for adoption?carebear:
Hi happyavon, do remove male from cage. The female is the one that the babies will go to for suckling. Hopefully the female is not pregnant again, as it happened in my case where the female gave birth again after 18 days of giving birth the first round.
I tried pet shops, but most of them are not keen to adopt.
You can try some pet forums eg pet.sg/forum or petschannel.com and put them up for adoption. Also note the hamsters start to mate around 5weeks old. Good luck and cheers!
During the \"confinement period\", I gave the mother lots of protein eg chicken meat and egg white, so as to reduce the chance of eating her babies. All survived, and I could not bear to part with them. It has been 2.5 years and most of them have died. Now I am left with 2 which are still healthy! The equivalent human age is about 80 years old. -

Indeed it was time consuming when cleaning their cages which I did once a fortnight! But my kids like them and they were one of our conversation topics so it was and still a good investment!

It is better to keep the mother with one of the female. Male and male might fight. Go to the internet to learn how to tell the gender otherwise u may end up having more! -
Here's a very good link on how to sex the baby hamsters. Please seperate them by 2 weeks, otherwise, you are going to end up with even more babies!
Another thing that I forgot to mention is that you must not change the beddings or touch anything inside the cage for the first two weeks apart from removing the father from there. This is to prevent mummy hamster from rejecting her babies.

Hi 25hourmaid n carebear, really appreciate yr kind advise…will read thru the website to learn more…till now we did not move anything in the cage yet…except refilling water bottle n food…the male has not bee separated yet since we need another cage…I think will do so by this week n hopefully the mother is not pregnant again…or I will really faint :!:

Hi 25hourmaid, Initially the babies are in d wooden…but they are now outside the wooden house n scattering in d cage…at times, I saw the mum trying to put them together n she did use the bedding to try to cover them up…but the babies still crawling around n nibbling oLethe beddings…all 4 are in different sizes n one is different skin color from the rest…more greyish color…they really look cute leh…my dog keeps looking at me when I walk over to the cage…she must be wondering y I keep looking at the cage…I try to peep into d cage when the adults are sleeping or resting…
