NatTif Mummy:

My DD said they were told to join the junior alumni last few days of school, my grandchild confirm has a place there, unless policy change
NatTif Mummy, does your DD need to pay $1K to join junior alumni? If no need, it's really good to join now than to incur $1K later. 😛

        Dear all,

Can I ask if anyone knows if priority registration for P1 in NYPS must be a combination of alumni and ex-NYPS student? Am asking coz I’m thinking of registering my child there but I am an ex-NYGH student and not NYPS student… However, it seems that Nanyang alumni includes students from both NYPS and NYGH… so getting a little confused here. Thanks!

as an ex-NYGH student to be eligible -- assuming you were NOT from NYPS -- you have to be from the era when the primary school was still a section of the NYGH, not after the primary school SECTION has been hived off as a separate school as it is now. If during your NYGH days, the primary section has already been operating as a separate school - then sorry to disappoint you, not eligible, even though you are still alumni of Nanyang FAMILY of schools

if you were alumni of NYPS and is an alumni MEMBER, your priority is Phase 2A1, else it is Phase 2A2

it may be free now .... but also don't know when you upgrade to adult member need to pay S$1k or not

To me, paying S$1k to be in phase 2A1 is worth every cent of it. yes, i am kiasu, kiabo, and kiaboh

We are not that rich to just throw out a lump sum of $1k just like that. My hubs gotta scrimp and save on himself for at least half a year to save up that amount....
i understand, i am not that rich too but even if i have to scrimp and save i will still do it if i noe of such a possibility early enuff to join the alumni so at least i have a longer buffer to save up the $$... 🙂

Interesting...what is it about pat's schoolhse would you mean by that statement?
Voovoo, pats schoolhse is not cheap think everyone noes.. to be able to afford the schoolfees for halfday or full day cc takes a certain income earning ability to sustain it for the 4 yrs from 3-7. Even if u are not high income earner, u can work very very hard to earn more $$ so that u can put ur kids there its still not an easy thing to do.

Most parents from the school are in general higher income earners, this is a fact. That is what i mean. This is a general comment. Nothing against the sch or anyone.

I have to admit pats schoolhse does have pretty gd curricculum, if i can afford and accept the rates, i would have send my kids there.

j3, I don't think u are that old to be from that era when NYPS was still a section of NYGH. That should be b4 1980.

If you want to obtain the exact period, just give NYPS a call. Don't waste $1K to sign up alumni and then realise it doesn't give you any priority at all.

                      Dear all,

Many thanks for your replies. Seems like there is no point paying 1k to join the alumni since there is no priority for my case. Guess my next best option is to do PV… @_@
