It's already Sep. So you would need to follow up quite closely in case you are chosen to be PV. Need to chalk up hours before June 2011. All the best.

Need advice regarding PV.

My DS2 (born in yr 2006) need to be registered for P1 in yr 2012. So, if I would like to apply for PV in the school of choice, I will have to apply before July 2011, am I right?

The period to clock in the min 40 hours, is it during the period starting from July 2011 till June 2012 or anytime the school assign duties to me? E.g. if I will to apply now, does it mean that the school can assign duties to me anytime starting from now or starting July 2011 ?

Depends on school in question. I started pv work for my son about 2-3 years in advance (school wasn't fussy then). All hours clocked will be logged. So long as you finish before June 2012, it should be fine.

Call your school of choice immediately and pray that you're not too late.

The consensus here in this forum is to apply for PV the year your child turns 4....which is this year for you! Since it's already September, contact the school right away to make sure you are still in time.

Last yr, I got notified of the outcome of my PV apln only in late Sept. I've pv in the admin office for a few days last yr. And everywhere I went, the students will acknowledge me with a nod of the head. Maybe they thought that I'm a teacher. Anyway I felt great!

Yes, I would like ds to adopt the same form of courtesy & respect. In that sense, I felt that it is a good place to educate my child.

Hi Funz

If you are selected to do PV at PHPPS, then don't worry, you will be able to clock the min 40 hrs by Jun next year. All staff are helpful enough to ensure you clock that important 40 hrs. But if you are not selected, then i think it will be difficult, or rather impossible, to get any PV in 'hot' schools in time for next year P1 registration.

php, I am not worried about being able to clock the 40hrs. Am worried about whether we are selected. PHPPS was not the only school that I wrote in to for PV but all got rejected so now left PHPPS which in the 1st place was my 1st choice due to proximity though still beyond 2km.

If not successful then really have to look at which school has better chances for those living within 1km and maybe rent or even buy. Or just register him in either BTPS or LHPS.

Thanks for your advice.

Called up the school just now and was told that I can apply anytime from now till 1 July 2011. Maybe their PV appln not so popular. Anyway, their phase 2C (within 1 km) has balloting this year, so I think I will proceed with the PV appln because my house is only 2 blocks away from the school and don’t wish to end up in one too far away.

Hi, anyone receive their interview outcome for Rulang parent volunteer program? Understand that the list of successful PV will be released in early Sept 10, however till now, I have yet to be informed.

I have just received the email from them yesterday night ard 9+ so check your email?
