Ya, notice that towards the later chapters of Book 3, there are actually short stories. Currently we just started on the 3rd lesson of Book 3, and they can manage the sentences so far except for 1 or 2 words. Sometimes I ask them to think before saying they dun know, sometimes I just help them along to keep the interest going. I will plan to go slow and revise more in the coming months…

Anyway I tell myself that somewhere along their Berries class, they will come across the same words again right? But currently at their level, they only learn nouns and not on connecting words…I guess at higher level maybe??

3 more chapters and my DS is gg to complete Book 6. However, even for those simple picture books such as 噼里啪啦系列, 是谁嗯嗯在我的头上, there will be quite a bit of words that are not covered in SiWuKuaiDu. It's difficult to get him to rem. these new words (he's more like reading from memory instead). How does your DD rem. the new words?

I do not make sure that my DD remembers all the new words that she encounters. Since she reads extensively, she will read the same words again. After she reads the same words a few times in different pages, she is able to remember how to read those words. I try to make her read 1000 words every day, even on weekends. When a child reads extensively, she will come across the commonly used words regularly. For some of the very obscure words, I don't bother about them.

Remember that we must let kids enjoy reading the stories, and make sure that they read as much as possible. They will naturally learn new words as they read. When a child develops a love for the language, she will be motivated to learn on her own.

Yes they will come across many of the same words in Berries, though I feel that this series of books have a higher standard compared to Berries. After my girl finished K2 in Berries, she is still not able to read Chinese story books confidently. The Si Wu Kuai Du series of books trained her to read really well.

Oh... my girl has actually been reading to me some of those recommended books in your list prior to starting her on those chapter books.

Well, i have the same sentiments as you, and perhaps will get her to read other books first then so as not to pressurise her too.

1. What was the actual time frame from the time the order was confirmed to be shipped from china to the time it arrives at your doorstep?

2. Will the parcel be delivered by singpost or by private courier? If its singpost, is it left in our mailbox?

My previous experiences were abt 5-6wks (if credit card verification goes smooth with dangdang) and the parcel will be delivered by singpost speedpost to our doorstep.
