foreverj, whichever choice of school we make for our children, go with our hearts. As long as we are comfortable with the choice, we will be at ease and so will our child. It does not really matter how others feel. What is most important, is whether do you like your child to be in the school. Of course, when people do comment on certain things, we take it with a pinch of salt. Ultimately, it is still our decision.
Are you registering your child into P1 next year? Doing pv? I just heard that the application has been closed. Hope that helps! -
hi foreverj,
your have a pm
hi Olivia
The orientation is not the type that you experience post primary. If I remember correctly, the gals are assigned a p4 buddy (3 weeks to a month?) who will take care of them as in show them around the school, help them buy food if needed. But I donโt remember them having orientation games and what not. The kids are too young for that I suppose. But the first few days , the teacher will explain about rules, get them to write their names on files/books etc. Teach a little. The timetable is only issued out after the 3rd/4th day of school. Meanwhile, during the orientation (for the parents before the school year ie the admin day for parents to buy uniforms, meet the FT of their kids etc) a simple timetable is issued out (eโฆg what coloured files to bring in day 1, what textbooks etc etc).
Hope that helps. -

I think besides netball (yes the school is extremely proud of its achievements in the sport and you can see all the trophies in the display shelves as you walk into the school fr the main gate), the gals Chinese dance team is very good too. Was certainly impressed when I watched their performance in school.
One more thing for the newbies to note, the P1s have their own sportsday. At least they have a fairer chance to win
else they will all be hantam-ed by the older gals:lol:
And swimming lessons will be compulsory for p2s.
The only thing I have a gripe about is the school website is not that current and updated.
Their achievements are only dated to 2007. Difficult for parents interested to enrol their kids there, to learn more about the school's achievements in CCAs/PSLE. Perhaps that goes against their philosophy of recruiting parents/kids who are more keen on a balanced education? -
dear ponyo,
have you tried buying any of the My Pals books? any recommendation? -

hi olivia, i actually don't worry abt others' opinion, more of finding out more from their experiences to get a better guage of the school. wil be registering in 2012, and dun need to do pv cos we are in phase 2B already due to church affiliation. thanks for sharing!foreverj, whichever choice of school we make for our children, go with our hearts. Hi Oliivia
Wow. you are certainly one enthusiastic mummy  keep that up !
As mentioned, the school used \"My Pals are Here\" Maths textbook and workbook so we have no choice but to buy them. The workbook has a good mix of easy to challenging questions. THis title is used by quite many primary schools too.
In addition, the maths dept of the school actually produced their own maths test/assessment book that supplements the exercises in the My Pals workbooks. This assessment is only sold through the school. You can't get it anywhere else. Thought that was really nice of the teachers to put in so much hard work. -
hi foreverj,
replied you too.
Take care!
Cheers -
Foreverj,
