      Hey buds,

Guess you must be awfully busy with the shifting to your very first new home. I just shifted to my very 1st one! *Phew* Its was so grueling for me. That's why I've not been working much with my dd.
Heyya soomum, it is busy fun for me. šŸ˜‰
Finally... our very first home. Just for us. So surreal when i think abt it.
Gruelling? No.. not at all. šŸ˜„ Due to my preggie condition, i started with
the sorting, throwing, packing and all way in advance. I even went round
my neighbourhood collecting boxes and getting into scruffles with the box
disposal contractors! Hahahaa! Now that was one helluva experience.
Hubs also very on with helping me pack and though he showed little excite-
ment (mebbe dowan his parents to see!) he shared how anxious he
was to see the house all done up nicely, as we invested in some reno work.
      soomum:
I wonder if you have time for my queries.
You do know that i will always try my best right? šŸ˜‰
With more time i can be prompt and quick with my replies.
On other occasions i wait for when i have some quiet time
to whip up my sharings. I'm always excited to share stuff
with you guys here. Keeps me inspired with my passion for
fun learning ideas. So keep your queries coming... :celebrate:
      soomum:
I want to teach my 3yo dd maths. I tried on and off when i have time to count 1-3 with her using concrete objects. However it seems like she can only understand up to quantity 2. What is the frequency like to introduce 1-10? All at one go or break into 1-3 then progress to 1-4, 1-5 and so on? I feel that her tcher is not working much with her on maths and i'm anxious to want her to be able to count (desperately in fact haa!).
Reading your above post, I would like to use the Montessori method to teach so it means i need to start off with this concept? if yes, i do not quite understand how i can use vanguard sheet to replace as the wooden rods? because the vanguard sheet although hard is not as 3D as the wooden rods right? Thus how do i build stairs without them flying off the floor? Can i use mega blocks to do this but thats higher cost? Why must it be alternate red & blue color? Is there a book i can get so that i know how to conduct this concept step by step? Also, do i have to make sandpaper numbers for tracing too? Or can i just print out the numbers (bold in black) & laminate it?
I will come back to you on the detailed replies for the above. I'm replying to
you from the hospital. Some baby trouble again but hopefully this is the end
of it. I deem it as being rather old to have another baby (at my age)... šŸ˜›
      soomum:
My apologies with my questions. Hope you are not fainting 😜 I can't say enough of THANK YOUs for all your advice and help rendered since i know you here =D
Cheh. Dispense with the apologies hor.. Not required.
Questions like yours keep me sane, inspired and distracted
from my real life situations, so i should thank you instead! šŸ˜„

Fainting? I'm excited to get back to you.. :celebrate:

Gimme some time k. I WILL reply you soon so you can help
your little sweetheart. šŸ˜‰ It's been lovely knowing you
      here dear..

      Regards, buds. šŸ˜‰

Hi RRMummy and soomum! Thank goodness for the ASUS netbook

i won or else i'd be bored to death during my ever so often hospital visits
these days. The wait is killing especially the morning human traffic. :faint:
Today, i waited two hours in sheer anxiety cos my gynae was in OT. But,
not that i mind anyway. Good to have KiasuParents for company to keep
            my mind off things. šŸ˜‰

I also treated myself to a nice snack & bought two pairs of shoes/sandals
to cheer myself up before going to fetch DD1 from school. :please: I\"m
not guilty at all, cos they were on offer. The things we tell ourselves
            huh?

Thanks you guys! For your  I appreciate it! :snuggles:

              HI laughingcat,

Thanks for your feedback on the i-maths set. I read in your earlier posts that your son is attending MPM Maths. Would you say that the activities in i-maths are comparable? I would think that maths understanding is more than counting to the hundreds, addition and subtraction. There is also the understanding and exposure to geometry, measurement, data analysis, time and money etc. Does the i-maths set cover these areas as well?

              Thanks!
              Hello Sean Wife,

They are comparable. But MPM got more stuffs (worksheets and manipulatives) and more fun as well. The i-maths is like a \"starter\".....hehehe šŸ˜„

Initially I wanted to go too but then the price is too expensive. Also afraid I might forget the method. So in the end, I bought the hands-on manipulatives from Learning Resources. The book comes with detailed explaination and colour pictures to follow. So far it help me bah

                      Where got impressive...?

Very backdated liao. Too many real-life distractions.
But slowly trying to get things back on track here.
Plus i'd be getting some classes running once all
the materials are in. I have immense passion for
early childhood education & the joy it brings me
when sharing ideas or stuff that i know with all
is immeasureable. Like they say, good things
                      must share! šŸ˜‰
