      autumnbronze:

I was reading through the various phases of registration and under 2A2, I came across this:

      b) For a child whose parent is a staff member of the School of choice.

Out of curiosity, would appreciate if anyone can advise whether is/are there any condition(s) to be met? ie must the staff be working for a certain number of years before registering the child under this phase?

Not that I know of. My son's tutor is presently serving her bond after NIE and she just registered her daughter in the school she's teaching in. She didn't even need to produce any documentation when registering her daughter. However, you may want to check with your school admin for confirmation.

              Okie, a hypothetical scenario:

Any constructive input on this would be much appreciated.

If the parent is posted to work in the school of choice, in the midst of PV or after completing the PV, what then?

              1) Does the parent have to continue with PV (if haven't clocked in the no of hrs) as well as work in the school?

              2) Can the parent have a choice to do both PV and work in the school to better his/her chances of registering the child?

              3) Does that mean that the parent can apply under phase 2B (if no of hours already successfully clocked in) assuming if phase 2A2 is unsuccessful??

From what I know, at Phase 2A2 (based on historical records), it’s quite β€˜safe’.

So assuming this scenario where the parent has already started PV, then become a staff of that school, I think you can’t clock in anymore hours under β€˜PV’ as whatever you do in the school will be under β€˜staff’ capacity instead.

Actually just considering all possible legal options at the moment πŸ˜„

My time with my DS is first priority though. I want to be there for him as much as I can.

I was considering that possibility too. But when I asked MOE, they said not possible cos I'm a Secondary school teacher, not a Primary school teacher. πŸ˜› Unless I teach in a 'full school'.

If register under Phase 2A2 (parent is staff teacher of that primary school), it’s definitely higher priority than 2B and 99% confirmed of a place.
