      Hi,

Also....anyone try borderlinx to ship stuffs from US to SG?

      TIA!

FYI ... citibank credit card holders get 30% off shipping charges thru Borderlinx.

Great savings for shipping your irobot from USA! 🙂

i just took mine out of the box to use - its v good !!

suction power seems to be quite good, the floor felt clean.

I started off thinking that the suction power will be quite weak ... so my expectations of the irobot was only to suck up loose strands of hair etc.
instead, it picked up the dust rather well !!

As for the US-purchased irobot, you need to buy the adapter to conver to 110v and charge overnight before use.
My model is the roomba 550, which allows you to schedule the vaccum to clean on selected days (mon-sun) at a designated time.

        happy irobot-ing!
So does the irobot 'move' around on its own, like the way we would vacuum ? Can it vacuum the carpet as well ? Sorry to ask these questions because my hubby got one. My expectations ? To pick up the hair, dust from the floor and also the carpet.

I hv a roomba 550, bought directly from US, and I’m loving it! Just got to make sure not to let roomba run over any wet flooring.

Anyone has a scooba as well? After 1 year, I am having some problems with my scooba. Sometimes, it doesn’t dispense water when activated. I did all the necessary trouble shooting but it doesn’t get going. I had to put it away and activate it another time. :x and the battery is also weakening. Used to be able to run for about an hour. Now, it goes dead after about 20 minutes. Anyone with similar experience/advice to share?

So Roomba can perform its job like picking up hair and dust. How about corners ?

Roomba goes around in a circular motion. The "sweeping and suction" function is on the underside of the machine. It will not be able to reach right angle corners completely. This is where some manual work is necessary. I usually clean the floor corners that roomba cannot reach when I wipe the furnitures. What I find useful if that roomba can reach under my beds, sofa and hanging cupboards (hehe, these are usually the out of sight, out of mind areas). This used to be struggle when the mop is used.

Roomba works well on my marble, parquet and tile flooring. I have no experience with carpet.

                Sorry, double post

Thanks...at least I roughly know what this can do. Honestly, I have no problems nor complaints using my Kaarcher but just don't understand why hubby is so insistent getting it.

Guess you'll have to ask him :D.

My dh was just the opposite. When I asked him to go read into the specs, he thinks it's a gimmick, and that nothing can REPLACE his \"going on all fours\" mopping. Which is very true, but I told him I'm not prepared to do that, especially after we moved to a slightly bigger apartment. He still mop the floor manually once a while. Haha, i'm not complaining

Sorry, no way am I going to go on all 4s to clean the floor. Hubby must have been brainwashed by his colleagues to get it. I refused to let him buy because I told him, 'the person vacuuming floor has no complaints' and yet he still went ahead. I enjoy walking on dust-free/hair-free floor.

Just to go Homefix, tell them you need to convert our electricity voltage to a lower voltage for electronic items purchased in USA.

                      Costs approx $10.
thanks Cody. I'll most likely get help to modify the power adapter instead.
