All About Vacuum Cleaner

hi,
i highly recommend the RAINBOW vaccum cleaner.
the price tag is steep i know, but its worth it !!
eg my mother in law used her RAINBOW for 17 years, and i took over her set when i got married 8 years ago.
ie my rainbow has been serving me for 25 years already!
no major repair cost throughout these 25 years except for ONE servicing (ard $400 because alot of my parts were rusty) and another repair which my maid inflicted by pulling the wire beyond its length.
Try the Rainbow!!
It cam be used to vaccum your bed and pillows etc, and if its any help, you can buy it with a 3-year interest free installment with major credit cards.
The newer models have an aromatherapy function that can cleanse the air as well. I didn't trade in my old vacuum for the newer model, so i can't advise on its use. -
I have one which is almost 3 years old now. I paid abt Sgd 100 for the shipping. I love the irobot very very much. The rechargeable battery need to be changed once a year based on a usage of alternate days.
Check this out http://www.irobot.com.sg
I think they are very very competitive in their prices now. -

Dear Cody,i just took mine out of the box to use - its v good !!
suction power seems to be quite good, the floor felt clean.
I started off thinking that the suction power will be quite weak ... so my expectations of the irobot was only to suck up loose strands of hair etc.
instead, it picked up the dust rather well !!
i live in jurong next to the highway, so my floor gets very dusty just after 1 day.
i didn't get my irobot via vpost though, so i can't advice on the shipping charges.
As for the US-purchased irobot, you need to buy the adapter to conver to 110v and charge overnight before use.
My model is the roomba 550, which allows you to schedule the vaccum to clean on selected days (mon-sun) at a designated time
happy irobot-ing!
Can you adv where did you get your adapter and for how much? I'm getting a 550 too ! -
Hi,
I think both rainbow / Delphin vacuum cleaner are from direct sale. They are very exp and their sales tactic is very aggressive. I had found many complaint especially the Delphin one. I think they give away free pot and ask you to invite them to yr house. Please be very careful of the sales tactic.

Just take your time to think / survey before your purchase rather than pushed by the sales tactic. -
Has anyone tried Karcher Steam Vacuum cleaner? I saw in karcher’s website, it can steam and vacuum at the same time… Any feedback about it?

Hi,
I am very interested to get a Roomba too.
I did a comparison of the pricing for say, a 563 in SG, it will cost me S$988. If I buy this online from the local distributor, there will be an additional S$50 delivery charge.
As I can’t find a 563 on the US website, so the closest model I can get is a 560. One of the US website is currently giving a 30% discount for 560, so it will set me back by not more than S$500 (this price is inclusive of the VPOST shipping charge of S$100 mentioned in the earlier post in this thread). I can see easily a saving of S$500!
I think I am ready to give the local warranty issue a miss with a savings of S$500 unless…
(A) iRobot bought from US has the tendency of giving product issues or (B) shipping to SG tends to give problem
Did some googling around…(A) seems to be not too big an issue…particularly for the 560 model. As for (B) if you have information to share on shipping an irobot from US, would appreciate v v much.
Also…anyone try borderlinx to ship stuffs from US to SG?
TIA! -

Just to go Homefix, tell them you need to convert our electricity voltage to a lower voltage for electronic items purchased in USA.
Costs approx $10. -

I hv a roomba 550, bought directly from US, and I’m loving it! Just got to make sure not to let roomba run over any wet flooring.
Anyone has a scooba as well? After 1 year, I am having some problems with my scooba. Sometimes, it doesn’t dispense water when activated. I did all the necessary trouble shooting but it doesn’t get going. I had to put it away and activate it another time. :x and the battery is also weakening. Used to be able to run for about an hour. Now, it goes dead after about 20 minutes. Anyone with similar experience/advice to share?
