one question:

if a pupil get a CO from school A via DSA, after PSLE result is released, he want to appeal for school B. He need to withdraw from school A first and then submit appeal form to school B. But if appeal failed, can he back to school A? πŸ˜„

We used the last year COP for the appeal sch as a guide to gauge our success rate at the appeal sch. Come to think of it, it was a BIG risk. We would not do it again for our 2nd child.

If appeal failed, I doubt the rejected sch will accept your child back as it is very likely that the reserved place wld be given to someone on the sch's waiting list.

You mean you have to withdraw from your confirmed school before you can submit your appeal form? I thought you submit your appeal form first, and only when the 2nd school gives an indication that your appeal will be successful do you then withdraw from the confirmed school.
I think u r right. We must hv appealed sucessfully, then withdrew. How come I hv forgotten exactly what happened??? Let me re-confirm with hubby.

if the pupil is required to report to school A on 23 Dec, but the appeal result is out (appeal is successful) on 29 Dec by school B, then how to do? πŸ™‚

            verykiasu2010:

            friend :

you have rejected it after accepted it

now you want to come back ??

as they said ..... someone should never return to its vomit ....

the right thing to do is : get the in-principle acceptance of school B first, before you burn the bridges

understand that lots of parents do it this way

only thing : teaching the kids the kids the WRONG value that we do not honour our commitment....promises can be broken...... moral values....nothing legalistic about it

as someone also pointed out, especially for top schools, they also offer to those who did not secure DSA offer - a second chance if they are above the COP and yet accepted the DSA offer from other schools

            😞

if you know on Dec 29 you would be successful in the appeal, would you still report to the reject school on Dec 23 ?

since you won't know the future, do the present lor ........lol

I appealed for my DD last year. She still need to report to the Sec Sch on the 22 Dec while waiting for the result. Most of the calls will be by 23-24Dec. I remembered I went to the DD current sch to get the letter and then went to the posted Sec Sch to ask the priciple to signed the transferred letter (she gave me black face of cos) and then went back to the current school and submit the letter. Some running around to do but good feeling lor.

thank all of you for your reply.

                  for my case:
my daughter is p6 gep and has got CO via DSA from NYGH (interview is exempted), but she didn't get CO from RGS because she is too shy when on interview (GAT is exempted)!

                  now i have two issues:
                  1. my daughter is not very strong on ML.
                  2. most of her classmates will go RGS rather than NYGH.

so i want to try appeal to RGS if her PSLE score is above 265...:)

anybody has experience to appeal to RGS before? need GAT and interview or not?

I heard of appeal cases required interviews, but not GAT.

you don't appeal unless your score is above the COP, isn't it ? otherwise stay at the school that you accepted the DSA offer, isn't it ?
