how to hv a better sleep?

Do acupressure on the area 3 fingers below the inside of your wrist. Depress on it abt half an inch in and see your own fingers curling / twitching. Do for 5 mins on each hand and soon, you’ll be yawning.

Seriously? Tried it and true my fingers curled but I felt a sharp pain as well. Maybe pressed too hard. Will try tonite. Dun want to fall asleep now.
I have very bad sleep pattern all my life. Difficult to fall asleep and will wake up a few times a night. All in all, I sleep no more then 5-6hrs a night on good days. But there will be periods where I will suffer severe insomnia where I will be sleeping like 2hrs at most. A few days of this and I will lose my train of thoughts in the middle of speech.
Swimming at night helps to ease the insomnia. The initial few lapse will be a struggle but thereafter, the stroke breathe, stroke breathe, rhythm and the sound of the water is soothing and b4 long, my mind will be empty of thots. Kinda meditative for me. -
Yes, insomnia can be depressing. The acupressure consultant said we need to press that acupoint 2-3 times a day, 5-10mins on each hand, for max effect. I pressed for a while and started yawning.
Another place to press is the area between your forefinger and thumb (back of palm). Use your other thumb to press that area (also half an inch in) for 5-10mins and it is said to improve your respiratory system (reduce sinus etc). Sometimes our respiratory system can also affect our sleep.
Meditation is also good if you need to relax (like MM Lee).
I used to have bad dreams abt work last time but after having kids, I am too busy with the kids to think abt work. Too exhausted. I dun even dream nowadays. Perhaps you also need to change your job if it’s giving u too much stress? Listen to your body. You need a break. -
Because i have dinner quite late (which admittedly is not healthy), at around 8-9 pm, then will go home around 10+pm, settle kids to bed, then take a shower to freshen up, before sitting down on sofa in front of tv to relax... then if read newspaper, it won't be long before i do neck rotation exercise on the sofa

Hi pink_daisy,hi all,
ive been having difficulty falling to sleep..n keep waking up a few times in mid of the nite...thus i don feel recharged comes morning.anything to help me hv a better sleep? i do sleep around the same time each nite..didnt take caffeine stuff or drink too much water before sleep..a quiet n comfortable room to sleep in too but very difficult to sleep... any advice? many tx.
You are a SAHM right? With 3 kids?
Any major changes in your routine recently?
For me, I don't really have a problem sleeping but to help me to relax, I will switch on some music in the bedroom to listen to. The CD has fast songs at the beginning and slower songs in the middle. So usually by the time the slow songs came on I can feel my body relaxing already and that is the time I usually drift off to sleep.
Also, each night I will pray to God for a good night's sleep and be able to wake up nice & fresh tomorrow morning.

Yes, you can press, release, press or just massage it with your thumb. It must be hard enuf but not so hard as to get a bruise! hahah
Hi Pink Daisy,
My mom used the Body Shop sleep mist and cream before. She says it works. You can try. -
hi i used to have difficulty sleeping too. Either hard to fall asleep, or i’ll wake up in the middle of the night and toss n turn for ages. I know how torturous it can be and i really sympathise!! A few things i’ve found to be helpful:
- Regular exercise
- Make sure u unwind for at least 30min before u go to bed. Watch tv, read a bk, anyting to relax.
- If u’re not even tired or sleepy, don’t force yrself to sleep cos u’ll end up tossing n turning n feeling frustrated.
- Axe oil n DIY head massage
Hope this helps!!
