Hi Dion,
I wish you all the best. Do try your luck.
As for PHPPS, I would say we all have our grouses if you refer to earlier posts (after SA1). As for the teachers, personally Iβm satisfied.
Itβs stressful as the students are competitive but I believe it gives my son a good grounding and discipline (discipline is strict). -
mummy of 3:
I know how you feel coz im rejected by NHPS.

Hey, you are in PHPPS now! ya?

Yes, I agree that stress can work to be good for children at young age if we handle it well. Hope you & your darling enjoy primary school life & hope I can join you guys one day... hahaha -

Hi IJJ,
Mine was only transfered at P2 2nd semester. Just placed her name beginning of P2 with P1 results. After SA1, they called me to ask me of her P2 SA1 results (wanted to ask me fax but we were out of town, hence just gave them verbally) and 3 days later, they confirmed a place for her. I think we are quite fortunate.dion:
Hi IJJ,
May I know how you got to transferred your darling to PHPPS? I think I don't stand high chance...because I just checked on the website that my address is just out 2km. sigh....
Waited for 6 mths. Don't be disheartened, its possible.
May I know what was your darling previous school? She did very well for PHPPS to accept her? -
Hi Dion,
Some form of pressure is required to push forward...but after that peak line, too much pressure will work against the child/adult. This is the advise repeated by my doctor.
My son is rather bochap
even though SA2 (year end exam) is just next month. Yours truly here is more stressed to see him like this. -

So is your son competitive in school?
Mine is very bo chap in K1 now. She is always the last to hand up her homework because she is too involved with chatting, looking, day-dreaming etc..argh! She needs alot of encouragement & attention from us to do her work. -

I can feel my child's stress now. She is, for the first time, gearing up herself.
Now, I advocate that she does not take it too hard on herself as long as she is trying her best. I play either way (kick start her or calm her down) to help her balance. I hope I can cheer her on to motivate her interest in learning, yet not to view studying as the entire part of her life. IYKWIM.

Child at this age changes very fast.
Certain thing you thought they are not capable of .. in 3 months time, they start to show sign that they can do all that stuff.
So relax .. just cultivate good reading habits.
As for your place, it is definitely beyond 2 km of PHPPS.
Historically, Phase 2C you will not stand a chance.
PV or transfer after P1 are good options. -

I know someone, also resides more than 2 km, placed her daughter's name right after phase 2B balloting, first on waitlist. Her daughter got in right before school reopens in Jan. Chances not high, but no harm trying.

Does it helps if I visit the school personally? Will they entertain us?
