My 5.5 yo DD doesn’t like formulae milk anymore. But she prefer the strawberry or chocolate fresh milk. Is it good in long run? Or should I persuade her to drink the fresh vanilla milk?

      Which brand do you recommend?

Meiji is good. They have chocolate, strawberry and original flavour. This should be enough to replace the normal milk powder.

          Hi superdaddy000,

I'm worried on the artificial colouring which are added in the milk. I try to let her drink fresh milk, instead of the flavoured ones.

Do you know how much should a 5.5yo drink a day?

I heard goat’s milk is good for those who are prone to allergies. The milk has better absorbtion too. So if your child often has cough or nasal issues, it is worth trying a change of the cow milk to a goat one. The problem is if you start the child on it "later", she might not be used to the stronger taste.

My kids have been drinking fresh milk since 1.5. The reason was I couldn't find a formula for above 1-year-olds which doesn't contain any added sugar/sucrose/corn syrup etc. They started with full-cream fresh milk - farm house, meiji and for awhile organic milk (horizon and organic valley). Now drinking low-fat meiji and sometimes Nutrisoy soya milk (the no sugar one).

However, both are short and skinny compared to their peers. Not sure if it's b/c they started on fresh milk too early. I tried to introduce formula to them again but they don't like its taste anymore. Last week I found a pro-growth, high-protein formula. Although they're still quite reluctant to drink it, I'm going to try it for a month to see if it helps them to put on some weight 🙏

OMG, DS too! if NTUC hasn't replenished the oat milk, I buy rice milk, only thing is I'm not sure whether its the same brand that DDs are drinking.

Btw, my DS still prefer the oat milk 😄

                    :hi5: sista

                    :celebrate:

                      Hi westmom,

Thanks for your advice, I have not tried goat's milk before, maybe I can have a try. My child is ok with the fresh milk now, but she do ask for the flavoured ones occasionally, maybe I will get some of those once in a while.

Actually i feel it is ok. Children can grow strong and healthy on milk even if it is from teh fridge.
