Use of correction-tape allowed in PSLE?
-
Precisely. The school should have stopped them from using it as early as day 1 of P6 if there is such rule is PSLE. I have surfed MOE’s website but couldn’t find anything. Wonder why did the school teacher give this instruction and if other schools tell their students the same?

Yes, if not they are all used to using correction tape. Now suddenly for the most major exam of their lives, they cant use.
My DS1 has been using it for the past 3 years, no teacher said anything about it.
They should start to tell the kids when they are in P1! -
Not sure if its ok to let him continue to use correction tape & his usual gel pen in PSLE? Hope someone with ds/dd who has taken their PSLE last year can advise. :?:

I just called my friend who has DD in Pri 6, she said teachers told them NOT to use correction tape. So she will just bring in gel pen. If she makes mistakes, then she would have to cancel neatly.
Quite scary when I hear this, I am going to make sure my DS starts to use just a pen and try not to use correction tape. -
I heard from another friend that her dd's teachers told them can use correction tape :? Oh no,why some said can, some said no!!!!

I think I read in the ST Forum page a reply from MOE (?) that correction tape is discouraged because they have students who forget to write their corrected words over the tape and also sometimes the word under the tape bleeds through to the top, merging with the corrected word, making it difficult to read.

Same discussion on this matter last year can be found here: http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5785&highlight=correction+tape

Cancellation will be worst, especially composition. The whole page will be messy,i don't think the marker will have mood to mark :stupid: -
Oh no, so is it allowed but discouraged or straight out not allowed? :?:

That's why I'm still very doubtful about this. It is not spelt out in moe's website but some schools give such instructions while others don't. I've checked the 1st booklet issued by moe and nothing mentioned in it.
