what’s the registration history for these 2 schools like? I downloaded the balloting history for these 2 schools but don’t see their names for phase 2B and 2 C… What does that mean?

According to http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/singapore-primary-1-registration-school-balloting-history, CHIJ St Nicholas requires balloting even for children within 1km of the school, for both Phase 2B and 2C. If you are not staying within this zone and cannot get into Phase 1 or 2A, you will probably not even get a chance to ballot.
The same applies to Nanyang Primary. -
yah…so either has to shift within 1 km or do volunteering or both. And you have to volunteer early. We missed that chance.

Hi,
Does anyone know about St Nicholas Girls Primary from experience?
Am trying to know more about the school in terms of whether the workload is heavy… it is stressful and pressurising (relatively), are the teachers more patient , are there lots of homework/ project. Do they empahsize alot on Chinese? How are children who are slower in Chinese taught? My girl tend to do better with love and tender than pressure. -
I maybe really Kiasu, but I guess by in 1.5yrs time, my RC chairman will be handing out the form for me to choose which school I want to put my girl in.
I really need some advise:
1. I have been srving AMK side for more than 5yrs and I am eligible to choose St Nicholas and even Roysth.
2. I am staying in Hougang and the nearest schoolis Hougang Primary.
a. may I know how is Hougang primary in terms of acadamically? I see that they are improving too.
b. I have 2 girls, so if I choose St Nic, it may be good for my younger one. But it is my fault that both girls are not speaking Mandarin, which St Nic is very strong in. also, the distance.
c. How about Roysth? Is it really able to help improve our children overall standard? This is good too as I am planning another pregnancy. If I have a boy, the whole thing of phase 2b will starts again.
Now I am contemperating between distance and good school.
If Hougang is good and improving, I may as well just put her there, instead of Roysth or St Nic.
Also, may I know will the chances of getting into Roysth & St Nic good for Phase 2B?
Thanks a great deal. -
I went to St. Nic to enquire on last week. Unless you are staying within 1km and eligible for phase 2B, the chances is very high. Otherwise their advice is to choose other school instead!

Thank you JJJmom,
Than I supposed St Nic is out as although I am in Phase 2B but living 2.5km away. -
Hi,
I’m having issue with Pri school selection for our daugther. We live just outside 1 km for CHIJ St. Nicholas and didn’t manage to get in for PV.
The next few schools nearby are:
- Anderson (<1 KM)
- Mayflower (<1 KM)
Between the two school which would be a better choice in terms of school environment and academics ?
thanks. -
How is anderson? I am eligible for 2B within 1km for St nic, but chances very low as 24 seats available only.
Am thinking of Anderson as past year history within 1km does not req balloting except dragon year.
Any advise?
