      Hi can you help me this ques;

      1. Zoe and Sean has $20 altogether.
Zoe has $4 more than Sean.
How much money does each of them have?

      Thanks
      Total money Sean has = ($20 - $4)/2 = $8
      Total money Zoe has = ($20 + $4)/2 = $12

        Good Morning

        You may use MD.

1)Draw one box to show one unit for Zoe.Add another smaller box to it to represent 4.

2)Draw another box, same as Zoe in (1) to show one unit for Sean

        3)2 units + 4 ----- 20

        4) 1 unit ----- 8, therefore, Zoe -----12 and Sean ------8

        Best wishes

Harry painted 1/4 of a pole red and 1 2/3m of the pole blue. The rest of the pole was not painted. If the pole is 6m long, what was the length of the pole that was not painted.

Joseph has fewer than 60 cookies.

If he puts them into bags of 5 cookies, he will have 2 cookies left.
If he puts them into bags of 7 cookies, he will be short of 3 cookies.
How many cookies does he have ?

                    3/4x6=4½
                    4½-1⅔=2⅚
Length of the pole that was not painted =2⅚m

                        Hi everyone

Need help on the following questions:

                        1) A class was fixing a puzzle of their photos. In the first hour, the ratio of the number of fixed pieces to unfixed pieces is 1:5. In the next hour, they fixed another 15 pieces of the puzzle. Finally, the number of fixed pieces became 60% of the unfixed pieces. How many pieces were there in the puzzle?

                        2) A piggy bank had some 20-cent and 50-cent coins. 2/3 of the number of 20-cent coins is equal to 5/6 of the number of 50-cent coins. If there is a total of 162 coins, find the total value of all the coins in the piggy bank.

                        Source : Catholic High SA2 2009 P5

                        Thanks in advance.
