Hi, can any parents of kids from Chong Fu enlighten with the activities available in the school for the children?
Understand that it is compulsory to take CCA but am not sure what are the activities available for the children.
Also, for parents whose child is taking bus to and from the school, can advise how much is the bus transport fees? I am looking at those smaller van that can ferry the child right to the lobby of the flat instead of the big buses that can only alight on main roads.
Thank you. -

for school activities, check out the school website. as for transport, don't have high hopes. We have been asking them to drop the kids at our block for yrs but to no avail. it is not expensive though, hence the inflexibility. fare depends on distance from schoolHi, can any parents of kids from Chong Fu enlighten with the activities available in the school for the children?

It is bit late for SHHK. the only solution now is to do well in P1 and try to transfer to chongfu for P2.Inagaki:
Hi, I have a 5yo boy due for P1 in 2012. I called Sep last year for PV but was too late!

We are a family steep in Chinese culture and speak Mandarin at home. I came from River Valley High. I hope for my children to be in a school which will give them good Chinese tradition and background.
My hope is hinged on getting into earlier phase via clan association. Any kind souls can help us with SHHK membership registration?
Thanks! -
Any mummies joined the PASSION Group in Chongfu?
What are the benefits for joining member in the PASSION Group? -
i happened to speak to one of the teachers conducting the second screening test (we missed the first one as we were out of town). she explained that the purpose of the screening test is to find out which are the kids who may need additional preparatory work before P1 next year. she shared that some of the kids are not able to do their ABCs even when they have been in preschool and these are the kids whom the school will inform the parents to reinforce during this period to prepare for P1 next year.
As for class allocation, she shared that this is generally based on the phase that the kid entered via, eg. whether phase 2A or B or C etc. However, there could be other determining factors such as the Mother Tongue. She explained that the screening will not determine the class allocation. -
I thk each class will consist of good and average pupils. Streaming will only be conducted based on result when they r in P3.

If classes are based on phases of registration, it would seem strange as loyal is the second last class and my gal is not in phase 2C

Imp75, I shared d same sentiment as u. My girl is in d same class as her current classmate in cc who gotten a place in 2B. My girl get in by luck at 2C via balloting.
Anyway, which class they r in is nt important now. We should move on to "worry" their performance next year, yeah?
I have roughly browse through the textbooks. And was relieve that these topics were taught to my girl in her current cc. Cos every weekend she has hw from the cc. -

haha you are damn \"on\"
My gal's K2 is quite relaxed and I hope she could be as relaxed in P1 as well. I don't pressure them too young ahead of time. -
Imp75,
Haha… me not "on" lah…Just curious on what will they be taught mah…
Yeah, hopefully class environment in CF will be relax…
BTW, did u get all the books? I only get those necessary. I did not buy the Reference-Optional which consist of 4000 words, music book and Chinese Dictionary.
