So far from what i see is ok. P1 to P3 not much different. But for my girl study P3 this year, the school seems quite on that 2 weeks after the school term they have supplementary class for English, Maths & Science.

I am also looking at BASC around Hougang area.


Just went to take a look at some of the centres few days ago. Realised that their environment were quite different from childcare centre. Many centres were pretty run down.

I strongly suggest that whoever is looking at BASC should go down and take a look themselves before deciding.

However, I did found one opposite Hougang Mall which I think is acceptable. It even tie up with an outside vendor for drawing classes in the evening. If parents will like their child to pick up learning and worried about travelling, this centre might be suitable.

Hi! Anyone can help me with any ok to good BASC in Bishan & Hougang?


I’m currently staying in Bishan. My boy’s primary school will be in Hougang.

My priority is to get a BASC in Bishan & a BASC in Hougang will be a contingency plan just in case the school’s designated school bus doesn’t want to pick him up from Bishan.

There is proteach centers around the island.Can check them out.

Seems quite popular.
The other one in bishan would be bishan 3-in-1 student care.
Other centers would include child care centers that have student care centers but i don’t think it’s very good cos they out the kids 2-6 as piority first. Student care they just supervise that they do their work.
Bishan 3-in-1 is also smth like that except they have separated the child care from the student care so it’s more specialised and have teachers to tutor etc etc.

I did some research on BASC in Hougang.

There is a Pro-Teach branch just opposite to PLMGS.
its located along some shop-houses.
Seems Pro-Teach has a better reputation.
Friends whose children have attended in other areas provided good feedback on the approach and attitude.
Will be checking it out.
