      hi hquek & janet_lee88,

thank you for your advice. my maid gets along fine with our family (only 3 of us at home), attitude so far ok though sometimes tends to be forgetful. She likes to eat spicy and fried heaty stuff, so will fall sick every alternate month or so. forgot to mention also that she requested for 2 days off a month instead of the usual once a month as she wants to attend english & cooking classes to upgrade herself.

How long has your maid been working for you ? English and cooking classes ??? So hardworking :?
When my Indo maids first arrived, I have to tell them to drink water esp after they perspire. All my maids fall sick within the first month after coming.

Get her to drink more PLAIN water - counter the spicy/heaty stuff.

She seems very hardworking (to want to improve herself) - although at this time I would just say to take what she say with a pinch of salt.

How long has this maid worked for you ? Does she have a chance to mix with other maids ? Like what hquek mentioned, the upgrading issue is something I will KIV in the meantime.

                jollyme,

Just kpo who gets to pay for her classes..
If you are okay without maid for an extra day then no problem..
Indo maid with Eng/Cooking Certs gets employment overseas easily and higher pay as well.. so if her skills are good enough then better KIV.. or else she might be jumpin ship real soon. 😉

                Juz my $0.02cents ..

                  janet_lee88, hquek,

already reminded her time & again to drink water, drink barley water liao… ha ha ha. think she finds me a naggy old grandmother le.

she has been with us for 1.5yrs and seems to mix around with quite ok maids. think she wanted to take up english lessons after seeing one of her maid friend complete her english cert. & was able to converse in fluent english.

                    auntieM,

i'm still in the midst of discussing with hubby whether to increase her salary or pay for her course or just give variable bonus, or a mix & match so as not to tie ourself down with fixed costs every month.

she actually can cook quite well already cos hubby is fussy with food & has trained her to cook up to his standard. if she go for further training, i think she can go open restaurant le.
