Hi everyone
Need advise from parents doing their PVS:
I understand from the admin personnel from the school that I can indicate on the PV appln form on what I am keen to help out with as a PV. Then what about the hours, can I specify like I can only help out in the morning of weekdays from 8am-11am ? I am a SAHM, so can only commit during the time when my DS2 goes to school. Is there such a thing that I indicate the preferred timing or have to go by the school’s given timing. Thanks! -

Just remember that if you are too restrictive in your timings, the school may not be able to find stuff for you to do. So my advice is to be flexible where you can.Hi everyone

Hifive,
You can indicate your preferred timing but try fitting into the school hours like 8-4pm. Try not to be too restrictive or the school may not shortlist you as PV. If selected, you may even have problems chalking up hours too. To be chosen as PV, parents will usually indicate they are available easily. -
Hi LVKM, hquek and janet_lee88
Thanks for your advice! Will keep that in mind when filling up the forms. -

When i was filling out the PV application form, i only need to tick the areas in which i am able to volunteer in. So now, i go to the school a few times a week, at about 12 noon. Not really a good timing though as its right smack in the middle of the day. So if you can indicate on the form your preferred timing, that'll be just great. -
Hi xinxin
Many thanks for your advice! Hopefully the school will have some areas that I can contribute in during my preferred time.

Dear All,
Would like to understand if you have done Parent Volunteering at Henry Park Primary School. If yes, could you advise me on what tasks are being asked from parents. As seen in the application form , their PV requirements require parents to be skilled at sport or art and need to coach students professionally. Are the standards of PV set quite high that parents have to be professionals ? Also would like to understand what is expected in the interview ?
Many Thanks from all parents…! -
Hi, can anyone advise if i can start applying for PV if my ger is borned in 08. Was thinking of starting earlier since i am a sahm now but may eventually join workforce in 1-2 yrs time. So if i do PV when she is 3 but she only register at 6 yrs… is the gap too long?? Do they "remember" or still register u as PV even after a few years gap?
can someone help me?
