Hi Tinkerbelle,

Just saw this message of yours.
Our papers , oral and compo exams are pretty well spread for this term.Cannot wait to finish, hope everything falls in place.

I am also not looking forward to psle cos I can see many are understress now, as in the students who are taking the exam soon. The usual cheerful lots also become quieter.
Hi Tinkerball,

Your child oral starts very early.we still have three more weeks to go, same for both languages paper 1.
My child last paper also on 1 nov, cannot wait to finish it and go for my long awaited holidays before the next race, and that is psle.
Hi Leanne,

Ya, I also thought it was a bit early for oral exams. Your child has oral exam and paper 1 in 3 weeks time.... Not on the same day, I hope.

Totally agree with you about the holidays. We are also planning on going for one before we embark on that much dreaded journey to PSLE. Not looking forward to PSLE.
Mummies here,
How do your child relax?
That is what other activities they do beside studying?
Leanne
Swimming, cycling, playing computer games, card games & board games, outdoor activities in park and reading.

What about your child?
Hi Tinkerbelle,

You typed at wee hours?
Yes, I agreed with you weekends are way too short. My piano lesson will be today, which is always a long monday for my child, hope its not a blue monday though.
Is your dd taking any piano exam next year, do u intend to stop next year, since its psle, am still contemplating.

Regards
Leanne

Haha...not normally nocturnal. Usually weekends are quite busy so I can only check mail etc at wee hours. šŸ˜„

We still haven't decided if DD should go for piano exam next year. :scratchhead:
Hectic schedule already so don't know if we should overload her. A few of my friends have decided to stop their DDs for a year to fully focus on PSLE. Guess deciding factor will be DD's SA2 results.

Hi Tinkerbelle,

You are right, via looking at the sa2 results should have a feel to take the next grade or not.My piano teacher is suggesting her to take theory but am not for it.Unless its on practical, may consider if decide to do music in pri six.

Is your dd still taking piano lessons now?I know few students have already stopped their piano lessons due to the coming sa2.

My DD is still continuing with her piano lessons. Are you planning to stop your DS's lessons?
I agree that practical exams can be considered in PSLE year but theory exams become too taxing and time-consuming, especially if the theory exams are in October. :slapshead:

Hi Tinkerbelle

This booklet was recommended by Mr. James Ang under this link:

http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12840&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=10

It comes with 7 topical booklets and heard a number of top primary schools are using them as supplements for non routine sums.
Hi Brenda,

Finally bought the set of A star books. Really good. Now, just gotta find some time to get my DD started. Has your child completed the whole set??

Hi Tinkerbelle

So far only touch on partial of Ratio, Fraction and Geometry. As for percentage plan to finish all the questions (83, still left about 20 to complete) in onsponge before start the A*starbooklet.

Now also have to foucs on CL P1 - compo. before the SA2.

Thank you.

Hi Janet,

It depends on which subject is your boy forte. If he is good in math and english, he will not face much transition problem.

Regards,

Hi Leanne

We are still working on maths but have to finish the percentage and volume topics in onsponge before we start the last few sets of past years papers. BTW, the teacher already started them with the revision of some past year paper since the syllabus had already completed.

The oral test already completed and the exam will start on end of Oct and the last paper expects to be on 1 Nov (Science).

For the other 3 subjects, will just focus on:

EL P2 Booklet B - 65 marks (Total papers 95 marks)
Science - MCQ 10-15 per day and review on the answer to the open and end questions
CL P1 - CL compo. - improve on the quality of writing

The above are just our thought on preparing the SA2.

Thank you.
