If, indeed, there are evidence in terms of emails and ....., I challenge the complainant to lodge a Police Report. This is just one internal affairs that has gone public, unnecessarily. Political? Scandal? Whatever it is, the timing is absolute incorrect considering the EOY and GCE exams are just round the corner.

But I think the students' exams won't be much affected by it

Actually some of the boys are very sad about it and this impacts their mental state going into the exams.

I agree with what some forummers said here. Let's not cast judgement before knowing all the facts.

Ng Eng Chin cleared of all charges, back as principal

Focus now on giving students the best education: ACS BOG head

The ACS(I) principal would have been aware of this case

Yeah, the teacher chose to contact ST first.

The principal of Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) has stepped down pending investigations by its board of governors.

Dr Ong Teck Chin, 60, is understood to have had an alleged complaint lodged against him by a former male teacher of the school.

The New Paper understands that the board of governors, headed by former school sprinter and Parkway Holdings vice-chairman Richard Seow, 48, is investigating the complaint, the details of which were not available last night.

Said a source close to the school: \"Some former teachers received an SMS saying that Dr Ong has stepped down on medical grounds.

\"But we understand that there has been a complaint filed against him which the board is investigating.\"

While members of the board of governors could not be reached for comment yesterday, Dr Ong, who was appointed principal of the school in 1994, did not deny the allegations.

All he would say to The New Paper was: \"Please wait for the announcement from the board (of governors) and until the announcement is made, I have no further comments.\"

                        too cryptic

may be he took the opportunity to call it quit and has every confidence the BOG will clear him .... but very unusual that a person like him, in his position, with a legacy in education to protect, would choose not to contest, and why would the BOG straight away accept the resignation ?
