Daddy
Can students use that as excuse for failing their exams??!
If, indeed, there are evidence in terms of emails and ....., I challenge the complainant to lodge a Police Report. This is just one internal affairs that has gone public, unnecessarily. Political? Scandal? Whatever it is, the timing is absolute incorrect considering the EOY and GCE exams are just round the corner.
But I think the students' exams won't be much affected by it

Actually some of the boys are very sad about it and this impacts their mental state going into the exams.
ACS is one of those schs that manages to retain a sense of belonging and bonding with ex-boys. So even my colleagues (ex-boys) were saddened by these allegations.verykiasu2010:

I agree with what some forummers said here. Let's not cast judgement before knowing all the facts. -

Ng Eng Chin cleared of all charges, back as principal
Focus now on giving students the best education: ACS BOG head
The ACS(I) principal would have been aware of this case -

Yeah, the teacher chose to contact ST first. -

Yeah, the teacher chose to contact ST first.
The principal of Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) has stepped down pending investigations by its board of governors.
Dr Ong Teck Chin, 60, is understood to have had an alleged complaint lodged against him by a former male teacher of the school.
The New Paper understands that the board of governors, headed by former school sprinter and Parkway Holdings vice-chairman Richard Seow, 48, is investigating the complaint, the details of which were not available last night.
Said a source close to the school: \"Some former teachers received an SMS saying that Dr Ong has stepped down on medical grounds.
\"But we understand that there has been a complaint filed against him which the board is investigating.\"
While members of the board of governors could not be reached for comment yesterday, Dr Ong, who was appointed principal of the school in 1994, did not deny the allegations.
All he would say to The New Paper was: \"Please wait for the announcement from the board (of governors) and until the announcement is made, I have no further comments.\"
too cryptic
may be he took the opportunity to call it quit and has every confidence the BOG will clear him .... but very unusual that a person like him, in his position, with a legacy in education to protect, would choose not to contest, and why would the BOG straight away accept the resignation ? -

:goodpost: How true. We don't know the facts, we cannot judge. We can only pray that this man of God will raise up and be honored once more.\"Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone\"
Not to pre-judge the man, or excuse any possible mis-demeanour, but one needs to be a little circumspect before leaping in and pummeling him.
All of us have bright and dark sides, Dr Ong, by all accounts, was a man of great drive and vision. The school and those around him had done well by him. Did he have some weaknesses, perhaps, but so do all of us. No point gloating over the fall of a public figure, it could be any of us one day. If you are a believer of God, maybe its time to say a prayer for him, his family and the alleged victim/s.
It is sad that his legacy will be forever tarnished by this, but at the same time, a solemn reminder to those in positions of responsibility about the necessity in conducting one's affairs in the most upright manner.
My prayers go to TC and R. I know they will be able to withstand this trial together. For their sacrifices, this couple definitely do not deserve such a finish.
Indeed, even great men fall, and often unknowingly. Let us all be on guard, lest we miss a step. -

My heart goes to the couple...knew them when I was a young adult. They are such an unassuming, hospitable and humble couple.
Indeed, nobody is perfect... and we need to take heed and guard our heart! -

Real or not, the damage is already done to OTC. This is so unfair! :xoclet:
