i juz went to popular. saw the $2.40 pilot pen but they only have light blue left so i didn’t get that one. bought another one which is only $1.75 under the Uni brand. comparing this and the one i bought yesterday, the more ex ones are definitely better. the eraser is definitely smoother and there are no signs of the paper being removed in the process of rubbing (if u know what i mean) but when i use the Uni eraser, i have to erase much harder. they are definitely of different quality so will get ds to try it out later and choose…

Eh wait, from what my teacher say, Friction pen has one major flaw. It might reappear after awhile. So, if you used it today, it might re-appear maybe next week? It could re appear any time. Same applies to those inferior correction tapes.

I suggest using Acroball for writing. Its ball point and its smooth. Its $1.75 in Popular but the pen refill is sold out at most Popular stores.

Anyway today PSLE English exam was EASY!

oh dear, that's shocking information ! thanks for highlighting ! i googled and found this website that says the ink wll reappear at -20degC, it's meant for secret messages !! Of course the exam scripts won't be kept in freezers, but who knows when technology can go wrong ? better be safe than sorry

My twins Teacher also advised against it… It’s up to individual choice I guess… I nearly went to buy it today…

My twins used to use it for sch work last time but if they erased too hard, the paper might b torn n the ink runs out v fast.

I juz told them to try to b neat. The most impt part will b filling in the answers column. Sigh… So nervous for them abt the Maths paper 2moro…
Hi all

Will your child be using pens or pencils to do maths problem sums this wed?
Ds said he prefers to use pencil cause it is easier to change workings. If he uses pen and the workings r wrong, he may not have enough spAce after cancellation.

i have asked my son to use eraseable (friction) pen for math problem sums. For the rest, he'll probably use a normal pen.

According to my dd, and to quote what she said, \"Pilot friction pen has its problem, the paper tears when u erase, no matter how gentle ur strokes r, and the ink qualities is not good!\"

Well, she isnt the world's best judge on writing instruments, and i cant confirm as she doesnt have it with her now, just sharing past experience ....
I agree with you.

Me too… I tried pressing on the paper very hard (simulate exam paper storage) and when I opened it the ink was a bit smudged so I used my spare ballpoint instead…

Tks for the advice. Never heard of the eraseable pen. Going to the stationery store to check it out now: https://www.5by7.in/!

                      Hello there,
Frixion erasable pens are not the smearing horror pens that you may have used in school — the ink is not rubbed away — it actually becomes invisible when heated with an erasing motion of the rubber tail cap. No eraser dust is generated.
                      Thanks
