Definitely the Z for me. I don’t see any reason why anyone would get an octa core phone (even I’m using a single 1.66GHz netbook running WINDOWS now), and with all the extra random gimmicks and features that I’m sure I’ll never use.

Is there any proof that results decreased after iPad implementation? There may not be an obvious improvement but there's no decrease either. Being a student myself i can confidently say that the iPad has not resulted in weaker results. Not all students game. In my class, I don't recall anyone using the iPad for illegitimate purposes ever since school started.


I'm not defending the iPad program because I'm a student. In fact after the iPad was introduced, I basically put all my notes into google drive, which is synced with my gmail, which is synced with my phone and computer yada yada yada, which means I don't have to take out annoying notebooks all the time to do revision. And if a friend requires notes, or I lost mine, I just share the doc... Takes 5 seconds and its done.

IMO, if the child ends up using the iPad as a gaming/networking tool, then his results will reflect. There will be people who will learn it the hard way at the end of the year. I've personally been through it, and I think that's a more than enough way to make one reflect on himself. Furthermore, since all RV students are expected to be of good character... Theoretically, this problem shouldn't even exist, no?

To answer your question, no, I'm certainly not blind. If I'm blind, I'll not be in rv. ^^ To answer your second question, of course got! I use ipad but don't play one. The rest of my class also don't play ipad during lessons one.

Don't generalise. Your daughter/son might be addicted to the ipad, but my school has 2.5k students, and he/she certainly doesn't represent the 2.5k. I own 2 computers, 2 phones, an ipad, and an android tablet, i dont see how they will affect my studies if i use them appropriately and have good time management.

… I think you misinterpreted my question but to answer yours it was around 50 if I remember correctly. I was asking that if I get a C6 for my Chinese, but A1 for everything else, and LCD grade as good, is there still any chance for a promotion since I would have been deemed to fail 2 promotion criteria - LCD grade and Chinese B4. I did win awards for my CCA though and do media coverage for school events.

So apparently now I have no chance of a conditional promotion because of some stupid mistake I made earlier in the year that caused my Chinese to be C6 and I ended up with a demerit point. I have 8 entries in the management diary and 3 late offences too.

All my other subjects are A1 except history and my GPA is 3.4, I help the school out as photo/videographer and I did win awards for my CCA. Based on this (since new promotion criteria requires Very Good LCD), is there any chance for any form of promotion (conditional or otherwise) assuming my LCD grade is Good?

If the student gets addicted, then it’s the student’s problem, not the iPad’s problem, or the school’s problem. I dont see how students can get addicted to the iPad anyway. The app store is so boring with so many paid apps and the free apps aren’t fun anyway. Maybe they will be very fascinated during the early months, but after that, it’s nothing. I remember when i got my phone, i was very addicted to SMSing. But now, i barely message at all…

Secondly, on that idiot who was concerned about the radiation: The sun emits UV radiation. The wifi router in your house emits radiation. You emit radiation. The banana you eat emits radiation. On the train, so many people have phones, and all of them emit radiation. If radiation were to harm us, "3/4 of the US would not exist now", a quote from my friend.

And IMO, the reasons why the parents made such a big fuss about this was that it apparently didn’t tell parents how they actually would be using the ipad, and tbh i’m clueless as well… Of course, Crescent Girls’ and NYGH could have more students from well-off families so their parents would either already own one or wouldn’t bat an eyelid.

...just for your information (I dont know if this is counted as advertising or not), there's one potentially dangerous problem on the SMRT Trains that can result in disruptions if left unfixed, in fact there's a possibility that it might have caused Thursday's and Saturday's disruptions. It's called flatwheels, and it's caused by poor maintenance which causes the wheels to...er \"not be round\" (in layman terms), leading to vibrations which can dislodge the third rail. It's characterised by a dug-dug-dug sound coming from the undercarriage of the train (I've attached a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBOhP-tZqpw - the flatwheels can be heard as the second carriage passes), and there's a channel that you can actually report flatwheels, and other faults as well, which is unofficial, but good enough as they have direct contacts to the depot people and it usually gets fixed within 3 weeks Just state the carriage number and the type of fault (flat wheels, light not working) etc..., send it to [email protected]

and there was no breakdown today. seems like people dont know how to read the newspaper, trains are supposed to run slowly. train stopping is due to train bunching together and your jerky ride is the wheel slipping due to wet tracks. now everytime the signal turns red, we think "awww damn train broke down", zzz…
