Today paper end at 12.00 noon, 15 minutes more to go!
Its 11.55am, not noon. -
Same here. DS spent lots of time on Maths and yet it's easy...
Does it imply that one is unlikely to get A* if he does not get close to 100 marks for Maths?
-
for those who do not know how to do the pattern question here is my solution.
untill patern 3 , it increased by 8 right? After that it increases by five. Students may become pretty confused. when seeing this. Then it increases by 8 again. So it should increase by 5 for pattern 6 so it should be 46 rods. For height it increases by 3 after every even number (multiples of 2). So pattern 6 is : (6/2)x3 = 9 height for pattern 119 is
119-3=116 ( beacuse for the first three patterns it increases y 8 then it increases by 5 and 8 respectively)
116/2 = 58
So there are 58 5 rod cubes and 58 8 rod cubes.
58x5 + 58x8 = 754
Now you have to add 28 to it ( the total of the first three patterns)
754 +28=782
now for height of pattern 119: like i have mentioned earlier the height increases by an even number by three cm. Since pattern 19 is not n even number minus one
119-1=118
118/2 = 59
There are 59 sets of 3
59x3=177 (height for pattern 18)
we found out 117 is the height for pattern18
now add another three cm to it. I think you know why.
177+3=180[colour/] -

I don't get you... What do you mean?

16.
(a) $11
(b) $31
17.
(a) 46 & 9
(b) 180
(c) 78(4?)
18.
15 mins
Yah! I check and checked and even asked fm my classmates.
Got 17 (C) wrong. Somehow managed to get 953.
c is wrong 782 :?
Paper was not difficult. Easy in fact.
>< -
for question 16 answer is $11 and $31
here is the working
since they said meiling( i guess or just take it as that) has $7 more than she spent it should go
1 u spend+7=2 u left
since they total spend 3 u spend
3u spend + 21 = 6u left
they were left with 3u left
so 60+21=81
81/(6+3)=9 (1 u left)
(60-9-9-9)/3=11
the other girl had
9+11+11=31
feel free to ask other questions as well -
36cm/3=12cm
1.2l=1200cm3
60cm x 10cm = 600cm2
1200cm3/600cm2 = 2cm
50cm x 20cm = 1000cm2
1200cm3/1000cm2 = 1.2cm
2cm-1.2cm=0.8cm
12cm/ 0.8cm/min = 15min
Hope this helps
