Hopefully it will be better. They just change the bookstore vendor this year. That's why last year is very messy because the transistion.
P1 hardly needs to use 8 middle sq in a year, can save some for P2 use.jollyjas:
Jennifer - Tks for the info
How many exercise books - broad line and big square - did the booklist ask to buy?
2pc Broad line & 8 medium sq , dun hv big sq
Not too sure the efficiency of the new bookshop supplier, but in the past, the q were not well managed and many items were out of stock. If possible, buy the exercise books n sch files earlier, not on orientation day. Just tell the security guard you are going to the bookshop (do call the bookshop first to check any hours reserved for parents to buy items). -

I agree with Jennifer. It's better not to buy on orientation day. We got my dd's uniforms and books earlier. There were only a few parents. We settled in 15 mins. No sweat. For books or files that are out of stock, you should be able to get them at a later date. Call the bkshop to check for availability. I hope this new vendor is better. Two years back, a friend queued for almost three hours to get books and uniforms on orientation day or first day of school, can't remember which. She was 'steaming' :x by the time she reached home.
This year, we have the books delivered to our doorstep but there was some miscommunication bet the book shop n delivery man on the refunds. -
E3:
The previous vendor really made me vomit blood....they said we could order the books online and collect them at the specified date and time... on the collection day, to my surprise, the items were not packed and the staff did it on the spot...same encounter as to those parents ordered online... then what was the use of ordering online???????worst of all, when i reached home, i found that few titles and other items were packed wrongly... gave me P2 books instead of P1, shortage of items. So made another trip back to the school, got questioning from the lady boss, looked at me like i was cheating her, then she got her temp staff (those schools boys) to make the replacement. Luckily, this time i checked the items...again, they gave me the P2 books..... VOMIT BLOOD......Jennifer:

What activities did you guys have on that day?
Hi dyh, I think it's quite nice for you to go with your two boys since they are both PH students. I think my dh won't mind going if all my 3 girls are in PH in the coming years then he could bond with them all at once in school for a different experience.
php, at current, only no. 1 is in PH, is he allowed to bring my other younger girls (no. 3 is turning 2 soon) along for the Fathers@PHPPS activity? Will the activities be suitable for my 4-yo and 2-yo? He brings my 3 girls cycling, swimming, skating, kite-flying or for badminton on Sats. -

What activities did you guys have on that day?
Hi dyh, no information was sent out to all fathers...the purpose of the soft launch was to let the parents and teachers know that there is such a group in the school. we had a stall in the canteen during the school's mid autumn festival to promote its awareness....and we did free instant photo taking for father/kid during the launch....
first event was on 25 sep, Fathers@PHPPS Fun Day..we had about 300 fathers/kids participated in the event... they played father/kid bonding games together and end off with an on-the-spot art in which the kids would have to produce drawing and presented to their father. the event was only catered for P1 to P3.
there will be another event coming up before the kids go for their year-end break...this one will be interesting but limited capacity..
