All About Parent Volunteers (PV)

hamster:
your son was in which Pri?Thanks all the advise.
I have check out some schools to be considered as my 2nd or 3rd choice like RGPS and Nanyang around Bukit Timah area. I still find SCGS is most suitable for my girl, not so stress for my girl during PSLE as their cut off point to Secondary School is lower. I know cos I was very stress when my son did his PSLE last year.
From the forum, I know is very difficult to apply for parent volunteer that qualify for phase 2B, even my friend has submitted the sametime with me last year June but was rejected. As still now, My application is still pending. I will try to call the school again.
My girl going for P1 registration next year 2010. What about phase 2C, I stay within 1KM. What is the chance? Balloting? -
KSP:
The discount is not big.
NYPS is affilated to NANYANG GIRLS' HIGH SCHOOL for girls.norman08:
Thanks for all the great info, for the affilation I would have to give up on nyps, I do love nyps alot, but I figure that my girls would need the affilation help to ensure that they are at least in a good environ for the 10 years.
Whether they made it to JC, or poly, at least this 10 years I knw they are in good study/peers environ. In case they are late bloomers, the affilation will still enable them to have more time to prepare themselves as mebe they havent kai qiao during pri sch days. If by sec, still haven kai qiao  , it would be their destiny. **Ren ming**. -

SCGS conducted balloting for those staying 1-2km for the last 3 yrs. So if u stay within 1km you should be quite safe. Then again, no guarantee next year be the same.... -
I just called up a school asking about PV. A lady asked me to "write in" in letter or email to the principal. Err⦠any idea what I should write about in the letter?
Also a wierd quesion, will sending a hardcopy letter present a better chance than sending an email?
THANKS! -

Luanee:
Maybe can get Chief to do a link (to Page 15) on the first page of this thread, like how he included the link to registration stats on every first post of the Primary school threads.

Hi ..
Just found out that for kids born in 2005, PV appln at Rosyth has been closed. last date was April 21st !
Was quite surprised that the last date is already over ! That's a bit too early as 2005 kids are still in Nursery ! Thought 2 yrs ahead of entry to P1 was sufficient, now have doubts leh.
cheers
