No, DD not in Good Shepherd but DD has friends that go there. I've heard good reviews from a parent who sends her DD there.
Is your DD in Good Shepherd too?Tinkerbelle:
Oh dear, your poor gal.
Not to worry. No one will bite her at the Good Shepherd Childcare Centre.
Wow!! You planning to find a sch for your 9mth DS already?
As for my DS, hee.....IM thinking already but can't decide yet as we are considering shifting house in the next few years. Now we are still monitoring the property mkt.
In any case, we will have to sell first and rent till we find a suitable pl. There may be some complications during those time. That's why we have not fix on a particular sch yet.

As for sch selection for DS, not to worry, you've still got a few years to decide :rotflmao: -

Hi Tinkerbelle. he was the very first person that I spoke to last week and their services goes as far as Woodlands but not to Pasir Ris though. I'm still searching for bus company that is willing to take up this job.
Hi fmastuki,fmastuki:
Hi Everyone. My name is Fhamy and I'm a dad who is totally new to this and my girl is attending her P1 in MCS in 2011.
I was wondering if anyone could help me with the matter that I have on hand. I live on Elias Road in Pasir Ris and I was informed by the recommended transport vendor that they don't cover that route. I had the same response when I was referred to another vendor.
Does anyone on this forum has any contacts for a reliable school transport company that would take up this job? I'm contactable via my mobile below.
Cheers
Fhamy

Have you tried Chua Bus Services? MCS uses their services. Maybe you can try calling Mr.Chua on 6452 4650 / 9665 4521 to make enquiries. -

Oic. Sorry don't know anyone else. If I find out anything, will let you know. Worst case scenario, are you going to send DD yourself? Good luck.

thanks tinker for the info.

Hi Vivian,
:welcome: :rahrah: :welcome: :rahrah:
MCS has no affliated sec sch so most of the gals will choose schools in the Bishan, Toa Payoh & AMK areas. St. Nicks, CHIJ Toa Payoh, SCGS & St. Margarets are popular choices but bear in mind the gals will need to achieve the required cut-off point for the respective schools.
Alternatively, the gals will apply for direct school admisssion with their CCA, usually gymnastics, netball, tennis, dance and choir. You must excel in your CCA to apply and you would need to continue with that CCA in sec schools. RGS has accepted MCS gals with excellent gymnastic achievements.[/quote] -

I've written to the school site seeeking some help from them in finding out if there are any other students that lives in the east, ie Bedok, Tampines or Pasir Ris that are interested in the school bus. If I could get 10 students, I could possibly get a school transport company to arrange for a combi bus. Otherwise, it'll be difficult for me to send my girl to school as it clashes with my work. -

Hi ta2,
Wow, you're really planning ahead.
I guess it depends on what is your definition of 'strong' Catholic faith. MCS has catechism classes every wed. for Catholics. Most of the catechists are parent volunteers and some of them have been doing it for years. :salute: My DDs really enjoy their catechism lessons.
MCS has prayers in the morning during assembly
and the occasional mass for special events such as Foundress' Day, National Day etc. There's a chapel nearby for masses every Tuesday before sch starts if Catholic pupils are interested.
In line with the Catholic faith, MCS' school motto is' God is our LIGHT'. LIGHT is the acronym for our sch values - love, integrity, grace, happiness and trust. These values are frequently reiterated to the girls.
Is that somewhat similar to CHS (other than the sch motto and values)???

Hi all,
May I know what is "DS"??
Why do we have to pay $60 for gymnastic lessons? Is this a must for all girls??
The girls have to be in their unforms on 20 Nov?? But do we have tme to get the name tags sewed??
I heard that the girls are streamed into respective classes based on their Math results in P1, is it true?
Catechism class - I am really uncertain whether should my girl go for it⦠can any parents advise?
