        Hi fmastuki,

        :welcome:
Have you tried Chua Bus Services? MCS uses their services. Maybe you can try calling Mr.Chua on 6452 4650 / 9665 4521 to make enquiries.

Hi Tinkerbelle. he was the very first person that I spoke to last week and their services goes as far as Woodlands but not to Pasir Ris though. I'm still searching for bus company that is willing to take up this job.

        Hi fmastuki,

Oic. Sorry don't know anyone else. If I find out anything, will let you know. Worst case scenario, are you going to send DD yourself? Good luck. :D[/quote]Hi Tinkerbelle. Thanks anyway. I've written to the school site seeeking some help from them in finding out if there are any other students that lives in the east, ie Bedok, Tampines or Pasir Ris that are interested in the school bus. If I could get 10 students, I could possibly get a school transport company to arrange for a combi bus. Otherwise, it'll be difficult for me to send my girl to school as it clashes with my work.

          Hi ta2,
Wow, you're really planning ahead. πŸ˜‰

I guess it depends on what is your definition of 'strong' Catholic faith. MCS has catechism classes every wed. for Catholics. Most of the catechists are parent volunteers and some of them have been doing it for years. :salute: My DDs really enjoy their catechism lessons.

MCS has prayers in the morning during assembly πŸ™ and the occasional mass for special events such as Foundress' Day, National Day etc. There's a chapel nearby for masses every Tuesday before sch starts if Catholic pupils are interested.

In line with the Catholic faith, MCS' school motto is' God is our LIGHT'. LIGHT is the acronym for our sch values - love, integrity, grace, happiness and trust. These values are frequently reiterated to the girls.

Is that somewhat similar to CHS (other than the sch motto and values)??? πŸ˜„

              Hi all,

May I know what is "DS"??

Why do we have to pay $60 for gymnastic lessons? Is this a must for all girls??

The girls have to be in their unforms on 20 Nov?? But do we have tme to get the name tags sewed??

I heard that the girls are streamed into respective classes based on their Math results in P1, is it true?

Catechism class - I am really uncertain whether should my girl go for it… can any parents advise?

                Hi Callie,

Yes, it's compulsory for all P1 students to take up Gymnastics unless if your DD has valid medical reasons. $60 is fee for the whole year.

Last year, all P1s have to go for orientation programme in full uniform. If there are no changes, this year should be the same. However, I did see a few not in uniform. Think they couldn't get their uniforms in time.

I think the sch will understand if your DD can't get their name tags sewed in time, in view of peak period for P1 orientaion. As long as you ordered the name tags and get it done before sch re-opens. Last year, a few gals also came in uniform without name tags during orientation.
                Callie Tan:
I heard that the girls are streamed into respective classes based on their Math results in P1, is it true?
Yes, all students are streamed end of P1 and allocated to the respective classes in P2 based on the Maths results first, followed by English. There are 2 top classes for every level. However, the principal mentioned there might be some changes next year. MCS might stream according to the total aggregate score, instead of just on Maths results. But at this jucture, no confirmation yet from principal.
                Callie Tan:

Cathechism classes are compulsory for Catholics. For non-Catholics, it's optional. However, some Christians and non-Catholics also opt to attend by choice. I'm Catholic so my DDs attend catechism lessons and they really enjoy learning more about God. The lessons are conducted in a very fun manner. Some gals will then be selected to be prayer girls to lead prayer sessions during assembly.
