Hi Tinkerbelle/LeanneHi Brenda,
I hope MOE doesn't increase the weightage for MT oral in Sec sch. :nailbite: As it is, DD finds it stressful :slapshead:
Hi Leanne,
DD also hardly speaks chinese.. For MT oral prep, we used this PSLE oral book which shows model answers for typical questions asked in the conversation segment. DD finds it very useful. I don't have the book with me now as a friend has borrowed it so can't tell you the title. It's one of the latest PSLE oral book (green in colour). Maybe can check it our at Popular (for next year's prep).
Noted PSLE Oral test usually is in 3rd week of August.
Therefore, we still have almost 10 months to get prepare for it.
I always think that it is better to use Oral marks to cover CL compo. marks, how about your?
Best Regards -
James Ang:
for some schools, there are still changes to classes and those who did well in P5 overall can go to the best/top classes, and SA2 exam makes up around 50% weighting of P5 work, so SA2 is indeed the exam that can make a difference to the class the student gets in P6.
Hi James,
I can't agree more. Lots of revision to do next week during PSLE marking days. :!: -

Good to know that there's still 10 months for our kids to polish up on their oral skills. Let's hope that once work for P6 kicks in next year, we'll still have enough time to prepare for it.
Maybe I should start conversing in Mandarin with her more now.. Brenda10:
I share the same sentiments. I always encourage DD to try to excel in CL oral to compensate for her compo., which is her weaker area. Paper 1 on Friday....I always think that it is better to use Oral marks to cover CL compo. marks, how about your?
DD won't write :offtopic:

We started changing the conversation to Mandarin since mid of last year. It gets a period of time for both parties and gradually we get use to it.
Also introducing CL story books, CL songs and CL show etc that would help.
