Thanks for helping me. Actually, I did send emails to some schools in advance to ask for their vacancies.

The Mar Siling school replied and advised me to fill up the application form for my boy to be put on the waiting list. I'm a little bit hopeful.
Do u have any experiences about waiting list? How many percentage that my boy will be chosen?

Have completed the 40 hours PV at a Sengkang school for 2011 registration. Quite stressful as most of the PVs there are PRs. Am afraid that even with PV, will still need to go thru balloting. Keeping my fingers crossed for the next 8 months :roll:

Distance sets in when demand exceeds supply. If there are only 20 vacancies in P2C, and there are 30 applicants, priority will be given to those staying within 1 km from the school. Those 1-2 km will be given places if there are still vacancies after everyone in the first group (< 1 km) is given a place. Thereafter, the more than 2 km group.

There shouldn't be any room for \"negotiation\". Imagine those who stay one block away from the 2 km mark. What does it mean? :scratchhead:

Hi Cherlyn81_77, the two best \"official\" sources for finding out the distance between your home and the school are SLA's OneMap service: http://www.onemap.sg/index.html and the school itself.

What you get from these two sources is final and non-negotiable.
