There is one more reason why the parent must go with DS or DD to collect the PSLE result:


'The PSLE result does not belong to the student alone. Good result or bad result, the parent has a definite share and role in it. Because in many ways, the parent has helped the child to achieve or failed to help the child to score high. If so, why let the child face it all alone? In my view, it is not fair. We always tell dd that's work together. She is in the front line and we are her 军师.

Yes, it is a team effort. If she does well, you are not there, still not so bad. But IF she does badly and you are not there, quite scary. I really want to be there. My DH also taking leave.

You r right! The road is still very long for them......and this is definitely not the end of the road.

on result day are most students accompanied by their parents ? DS told me not to tag along. But i’m afraid he’ll feel odd one out if most of his friends have parents with them. What’s the norm ?

Yes, you're allowed inside the school hall.

From what I saw at DS school in past years, most parents accompany their DS or DD. They are allowed into the hall and I had seen the Form teacher interacting with the parents too. So, one can say that accompanying the child is the norm.

You only need to accompany your child on PSLE results day to give him/her moral support. After that, there's Reporting Day where you can purchase books, school uniform etc. You don't need to accompany your child on Reporting Day if you don't want to. That's about it if I remember correctly.

sec school reporting day, max 0.5 day if u want to go, else kids can be there on their own if they are capable of buying their own books and uniform etc
