Yes and some of the answers for synthesis for P4-6 are also unreliable. But if you are sure of answers yourself, then past year exam papers are a good buy

      hi,
are the Science answers for these online free past yr papers reliable? my boy going P3 next yr and i am very new to this subject.
      TIA.[/quote]Hi jedamum,

So far, I found most are ok but for science esp for open ended qns, your answer must be quite exact with the right key words, sometimes the answers given are not that exact. So I also ask my friend's tutor to help check. Her tutor comes to the house and also gives top school papers to do so at the same time can check if answers are accurate. But dont worry, most of the time, it should be ok. You can buy guidebooks (marshall canvendish) to help you with the science concepts too.

Everytime I pass my neigbour's house, it smells very nice and fresh. Mine always smells of food or just no smell. How to have that fresh smell without using artificial stuff? My maid cleans the house everyday, still no nice smelling house.

I can see my maid does quite a thorough job. Anyone has any suggestions? I like the house to smell nice. I know it may sound weird but it is important to me. Guess that is why I like Ion a lot as they have some nice smelling perfume put in their airconditioners :scratchhead:

    • RE: All About English Creative Writing

      Hi purple05,

My dd was in same position as your kid. We travelled very far to AMK every week. In the end, the distance was killing DH and me so we stopped. But could not find a suitable centre so this term, we just started again. Good thing for us, we managed to get a slot in the same day under the same teacher. We were one of the last to get in for that class. Now my dd enjoys her classes even more. It seems like they have tweaked their methods to suit the class as the class change. The students can grasp faster so they now teach them how to put themselves in the writer's position and imagine the fear, the silence, the darkness etc and come up with their own descriptions. The teacher also switched off the light to get the children to imagine the darkness. My dd could not stop talking about it. πŸ˜‚

Which books are you talking about? I know some of the titles that TAS recommended. I could find some of them in the library. But some like books by Chris Ryan, the survivor series I could not find. Maybe should go to certain libraries, some libraries stock more childrens books.

    • RE: Comparing English Enrichment Programmes

Yes, I agree that TAS is effective. Both my children could improve quite fast and my dd improved a lot last year after attending just a few weeks of TAS lessons. But I do know of some children who take a much longer time. They can’t seem to apply what they have learnt and I see some parents get very discouraged. I think every child is different so its best not to join any one centre hoping for a magical cure.

Some of my friends had kids at Han who did well, mine joined but did not like lessons and did not show improvement. So sometimes no choice have to have trial and error till you find the right one.

I am helping my sister-in-law to ask, she wants her dd to join your Newspaper and storybook programme. Has it started?

      Hi TAS,

Do you conduct Word Wizard at your Bukit Timah branch?

Have you moved to AMK, my friend who stays at Bishan wants to sign up but finds Yishun too far so if you have already moved to AMK, I can let her know.

      hquek:
My 2 sons slept with us from young. Finally managed to move them into their own room. It's good being to sleep without getting kicked or crushed during the nights. This is one of the good bits having 2 kids - they give courage to each other to sleep in their room.

Yes, I have 2 girls, once the older one was ready by 6, the younger one was also willing to go to their shared room. Phew!

      Hi,

Do you have art teachers that can go to the house to teach art?

      Hi TAS,

I am interested in your storybooks and the phrases you provide too. Are the phrases for every storybook? Do you charge for the phrases?
