may be a verbal indication but not black and white confirmation .... subject to performance up to DSA time next year (P6)

              Its confirmed.

You mean HCI issued a confirmed offer to a Pri 5 student ?

Does not it contravene DSA rules that it is only for P6 pupils ?

Does that mean HCI has informed MOE on the DSA offer made to the P5 boy as is required for the offer given to P6 boys ?

I am amazed at this. How is it possible to get a confirmed DSA offer when the student is in P5? The whole DSA process seems to be getting murkier and mysterious. Or is it that I have not understood properly?

It is competitve among the top schools to get the best sport students to join them. During competitions, I have noticed many Secondary school coaches will watch matches by the primary school division and start their selection already.

For top sportspersons, coaches will approach the students as early as P5 and tell them verbally that their DSA is as good as confirmed. Don't believe they'll give them a confirmation letter. The student will still have to apply for DSA in P6, go through the selection tests etc and unless they really screw up their GAT etc, they'll be able to get in.

If a confirmed letter from the school was indeed given out in P5, it'll be interesting.

no black and white till formerly the DSA process is over, and DSA is only for P6, although some activities in P5 do have some bearing for DSA in P6
