I always face a prob :- whenever she is sick or not well…. Ppl wl start asking me WHAT DID YOU EAT???

      MIL would ask me this.
      I would answer with a GLARE :x
      It's utter rubbish.
Children will have and go through many bouts of colds and coughs.
      Blah!
It's part and parcel of growing up and building their immunity.
      Breast is best.
Anyone who tries to argue otherwise is a moron.

Ah then I have a huge moron friend. This friend of mine has a degree in nutrition, always telling me that formula milk is much better than breast milk with all the AA, DHA etc etc.

I don't even bother to argue with her coz she will always shoot me back with...'I have a degree in nutrition, u know?' :stupid:

Sigh...I guess it is just a lack of understanding then!
Breastmilk is the gold standard in infant nutrition (juz check out what WHO has to say abt it.)
All formulas try their best to emulate breastmilk...AHA,DHA are recent additives in formula that have been present in breastmilk since who-knows-when. Up til today, the exact composition of breastmilk is still unknown - when they do discover the presence of yet another nutrient, you can be sure that manufacturers of formula will market it as another revolutionary breakthrough!
My thought on this...why spend on an inferior product when you can get the best for free?

Yes it's free and it's the best thing on earth that I could ever give to my child.

                      Hi there!

Am a newbie to Kiasu Parents but I saw this club and just felt like it called to me.
My son's turning 1 soon and am happy to say that I'm still BF-ing although am a FTWM.
However, have had to mix after the first 7 months as my supply plunged sharply due to hectic work schedule and having to express mainly rather than direct feeding. So sad... 😢 But I figured even a little breastmilk is better than no breastmilk, right?
So I've kept on going but starting to feel like no point cos am only able to express so little (20-40ml each time, once a day). But the thing that's got me so torn up is that my son still loves to latch on and seems to be satiated when he's able to feed directly from me. So dunno if I should stop or just try to wean him off. Thoughts? :?:
