BTPS was my first choice until PH accepted my PV apln. I only sent one PV apln letter so mind was more or less set for ds to go BTPS. Was convinced by my ex-colleague whose 2 DDs are studying there that BTPS is a reasonably good sch. He said that BTPS is more or less united nations and due to the affluence of the area, students are mostly of 'good' background.
My friend is quite the fussy & kiasu type. So I was convinced that if it's good enough for him, it'll be good enough for me too. Actually in a way it's a pity that a sch who produces so many good students at lower pri stands to lose the best of them at GEP. -

It is indeed a very good school. Just that the competition for student around this area is just too high. Location wise, the other schools also have better public transport than BTPS.dyh:

Hi parents, have some qns about the uniform.. when the child has PE, do they just wear PE T shirt n shorts to school? or do they have to wear sch shorts over the PE shorts? can't quite remember how was school like years ago.. :oops: plus for girls we always wear shorts under skirts.. :lol: Asking because I may go buy his uniforms this week..
for Parents who bought at Tiong Bahru recently, were there PE attire available? Cos the letter said PE attire is not available in school until orientation. wonder f it's the same case in the tiong bahru outlet.. Thanks in advance!! -

As of P3, mine wears PE attire w/o skirt although some of her classmates wear skirts. besides him, there were also a few scholars in my class....too bad i was the next in line and i missed it....anyway, majority in my class did well. but i learnt a good lesson...you don't have to do well academically in order to do well in life....My friends and I (those non-scholars) are in retiring mode now but those scholars are still working very hard...haha...out of 40 students, slightly less than 30 of them are still in contact including a few of our teachers....can't imagine it, we knew each other since the 70s.php:

Mine spent her first 1.5 years of primary school life in BTPS. The maths and EL standards are comparable, if not, slightly harder than PH. EL oral in P1 consisted of reading, pic discussion as well as free questioning. They had very regular topical reviews (tests) on all subjects, hence, I could keep very close track of her progress, specifically by topics. By P2, her then FT hand picked few potential kids from the class to attend his 'special' maths lesson to train on 'out-of-text' questions (I suspect these are olympaid). Mine was not selected in this 'grooming' class. After SA1, all these 'special-trained' students topped the class, with mine, a black horse, came in 2nd in class. :lol: The only subject I was not quite happy about was its CL. I remember her P1 CL teacher gave out a set of material with countless mistakes. I was so taken back that I took the entire set, vetted and sent back to its HOD almost immediately. :lol:
The Indian ex-principal, whom I could not recall his name, had done quite alot to move the school to where it is now. -

I think you meant dark horse cos I only heard of white horse :lol:
