hi 2centsworthy,Dear Mumof3Kids,
When KK PD attended to your son, did he send him for a hearing test? My friend's child and my own had a similar situation... loner, playing by himself, low self esteem, slow in speech (but started uttering words at 8mths and then stopped at 15-18mths etc... I tried talking to him in a soft tone to see whether he could hear... yes, he could... then lots of people tell me boys are slower in speech. In any case, his pronunication at 3yrs 6mths was not too good and Nursery. So I took him to the Audiologist at Lucky Plaza and had his hearing tested. Actually prior to that we consulted a very famous ENT doctor at Gleneagles and he said nothing wrong... just wax in his ears.
thanks for pointing out a very crucial point.
the people at NUH recommend us for a hearing test before we begin speech therapy. tests revealed that his left ear was partially block. we went to a GP to get the ear wax removed. -

But, now, my FIL is really a problem too, when my son is crying or refuse to go to school, he keep on complaining the school, and now, I say I am going to withdraw him from this school, he stop me at angry tune!! He said I am forcing my son, keep on pushing him to new environment and frighten him...OMG, this is my only son, I love him so much,
Forget about your FIL, do not be distracted, do what is best for your boy (but I can see your 1st & 3rd are girls so perhaps your FIL more kan cheong for his grandson). Like what Eason Magpies shared, go to kindy to be abuse? Better stay at home! Get help from your hubby if possible to talk to your FIL. Not easy to find a small pre-school with low enrolment and with supportive teachers but you must try. Take care mummy of 3!

Hi, really so happy that I still managed to get supports and sharing here..
has talk to my hubby, when he talk to FIL, then both father and son tend to quarrel..So, I keep quiet now. I have a talk with son's form teacher yesterday. She said they are not treated my son as transparent, but just that my son should have the discipline where other kids can go in by themselves, my son have to do the same. She told me actually my son has changed, he did enjoy himself in the class , during music lesson, story telling,....etc. she said my son just has the problem to get into the gate of school. after that, he is all right.. except he will beat his friends sometimes when he is angry..for this, I must say sorry & admit..yes, he is..at home too, when he is angry or cant get things that he wants, or his things been snatched by the younger sister, he will beat her, or even scratch her cheek.. I do assured the form teacher that I has registered my son for occupational therapies, psychology therapies, languages & speech therapies...
yes, like you all mentioned, he is referred to have a hearing test at ENT @ KKH, so far, no calls to us..shd be all right as they mentioned they will contact us if the result shows my son have hearing problem.. ..since the term is finishing, and the school actually has so many days off due to K2 Graduation, so, I let my son to stay, meanwhile I need to source out kiddy with caring teachers nearby, as I have 3 kids, cant be able to travel here & there. moreover, my eldest will be in P1 next yr.youngest will go to Pre-Nursery at the same school of my son if I did not withdraw them.. :?

The problem is, yr kid is a hazard for other kids. This reason is good enough to 'sack' yr kid to protect other kids.Hi, really so happy that I still managed to get supports and sharing here..

Frankly, do you know how stressful the teacher is handling 25 (guess only) monkeys plus 1 more 'problem' monkey..... Assume yr kid has negative behaviour keep beating up other kids, some parents will gang up and complain to the management, stress them, indirectly pressure you to withdraw yr kid. if not, those parents withdraw their kid which indirectly affect the school revenue. The school are profit oriented company, not charity.
The teacher complain to you could be pressure by the management or parents to do it. We all live in a cruel society.
He is better off go CC where the Teacher to child ratio is smaller. More attention. You may have to pay a premium for that.
