The Alternative Story (TAS) - Discussion
-
Hi Laurenwkids,
Perhaps I could help you here. TAS has their own thread here:
http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7586&start=0
and information on their classes can be found on their website:
thealternativestory.blogspot.com or you could also email them to ask them about their classes. Their email address should be found on their blog.
I can also give you some feedback on what I know about their classes:
I just joined their regular classes and my son is now in their crash course holiday program as well. He is enjoying himself and the lessons seem very effective for him. I would recommend you to go down to their centre to take a look at their materials. That is what I did, I also got him to go for a trial lesson after that and he was hooked on it and so was I  I hear their holiday classes for december are filling up very fast so if you want to sign up, it is good to do it before more people 'chiong' to do so. -

The Alternative Story:
Yes, good memory!Hi buds,
Oh no, which area in the North exactly? If I am not wrong, I remember you mentioning you were moving to Woodlands.
We're in Admiralty area now.
The Alternative Story:
Greenridge is in Bukit Panjang, darling..Have you tried schools like Green Ridge, Woodgrove? I do not know if they are still good, but a few years ago, these schools seemed to be not too bad.
TAS
But yes, you did mention to me about Woodgrove Pri (which i went to as
well) and placed my girls' names on waitlist with practically almost all
other schools within Admiralty and also Woodlands area.
My top 3 choices are Innova Primary, Woodlands Primary and Woodlands
Ring Primary. :xedfingers: The choices are more so for convenience. But
exception for Innova cos it's new... hehee.. .. and plus i just love
how the place looks & all their programmes. Plus is, they have student
care within the school.
So, see how lar.. i was planning to swap asap when we shifted, so called
all the schools in advance but they were all full house. So, still sending
my girls to the school in CCK which is a great school which i don't mind
continuing them with if not for #3 popping soon.. and also plans to
resume working after confinement. No choice. Gotta find somewhere
nearer to home.
I'm still keen on putting them for your pgrm... hopefully you're not too
full by the time i receive some news from any one of the schools.

Hi buds,
Oops, sorry I thought Green Ridge was at Admiralty. Seems like it
is very tough to find a place in school in Woodlands. How about trying
for schools at Sembawang or Yishun?
Hopefully, you can find a spot for them soon. It must be very
tiring to travel all the way to their present school and back.
And congratulations on your pregnancy! :celebrate: You must
be so happy
What kind of work would you be looking
for? Would you be running phonics programmes? It would be
a hit, I am sure.
Hope we can have your daughters join us as well when you have
everything settled.

Hi TAS,
A big THANK YOU for organising the Forum Galleria event last weekend. You were very generous in not just teaching the children for free but you also gave out such nice balloons. My girl loved Ariel and Spiderman.
You also gave out not just 1 prize winner but 2 for 'every child can write'. Although my girl did not win, I was very impressed with your generous spirit and excellence in delivery. Your teacher teaching was clear and he was captivating as well. Your teaching strategies were also very interesting.
Am tempted to go for your holiday programmes, will discuss with my hubby and get back to you. -
Hi HaleyCopterz,
Thank you for your very kind feedback  Hope to see
you and your daughter in our holiday programmes if you do
join us.

Hi TAS,
I heard about you from my colleague. She bought your book and has joined your programmes. Needless to say she is very happy and impressed with you. My older boy is in P2 and he can do comprehension, grammar etc very well but he struggles with creative writing. He writes quite well in the sense that he is able to string complete coherent sentences together and his story makes sense. However, he is not so good in describing the scenes. I was thinking if it is possible for him to learn the techniques and maybe progress to a higher level after he has mastered it? I am asking this as he is a very fast learner and I think he can go to a higher level after he masters the basics. But if it is not possible, that is also fine. I do not want to put you in a spot. Thank you lastly for letting non TAS parents have your book, it is really helpful.
