One advice to all, dun do it last min if u going by this route. If can, do volunteer 2-3 yrs earlier prior registration, safer. saw from somewhere, it says:

-members of CCC, CCMC, RC and NC who have at least one year of continuous service immediately prior to their application
(i.e. for child P1 in 2012, the registration is in 2011, then the executive member appointed date must be on or before 30 June 2010).

Each term for the committe member is 2 years. If volunteer for 2-3 years earlier, what if the P1 registration required is 3 years later? Will one still able to continue in the RC committe after the 1st term so that he can still be a GRL in the 2nd term?

For example, my child P1 registraton is Year 2013 Jun. I apply for RC now and if am lucky enough, get into the Executive Member to serve from 1 Apr 2011 - 31 Mar 2013. What is the chances of getting on the 2nd term (1 Apr 2013 - 31 Mar 2015) so that I am still eligible for Phase 2B during the registration exercise in 2013?

Tot once u got the EM, u will be forever there, unless u resign. But of course u hv to be active in your zone, they shouldn't sack u. I've been in my zone since Jan10, and I can see those absentees (members) have not been attending for these 10 months.

U hv to check with other experts here who has a definite answer. BTW, my appointment did mention I'm fm tis date to tat date.
Correct if I'm wrong... your appt date is till Feb 2011.
The new committee terms starts from Feb 2011... for another 2 years.... 2nd year is auto-renewal.
So basically EM status is valid for 2 years.
After which, the Chairman/PA can recommend to void the EM status if the member is inactive.
And Phase2B eligibility dateline is 30 June.
Observer period... about 4-5 mths.... before they nominate you for EM.
With these dates in mind... you can estimate the time you need to qualify for EM.

I submitted my volunteer application form for CCMC/RC 2 months ago to the receptionist in my CC. Till date still no news

How will I get informed of my application?

How long will the application process take?

Talk to the CC manager... or find out the date of your next meeting... and be observer... contribute 1st... they have another member nomination form.... whereby they will nominate you to be EM when the time is right.

I think the volunteer form is for generic ad-hoc volunteering jobs.

Not necessary the observer period is about 4-5 mths, my friend got her only about 2 yrs times, not too sure whether PR affect this.

And not to forget the 1 yr as an EM, observer not counted. Tat's why volunteer earlier if choose this route.

Tink u got the wrong idea. I'm waiting for the appointment letter and not the phase 2B letter. I need to get the appointment letter as an EM+ 1 year of service to year 2011, then I'll be able to get into phase 2B next year.
How long you have been as an observer?

I join in Dec, but miss the 1st meeting, luckily my friend told me the next meeting date in Jan, so I went. So I should consider 6mth as observer.

For my case, is a bit confusing lah. haha. Somehow the process of my EM application drag too long, eversince I heard the CC saying confirming me in Apr, and I only got my letter in Oct. Processing is TOO slow in my area.....Tat's why join early, not to take risk. Mine very risky, nearly can't catch on time.

Actually to get confirmed as Executive Member is not that difficult. It actually depends on whether the RC Chairman or CC staff in charge (Assistant Constituency Manager) is willing to help.

Is there a quota per RC? I saw 1 RC has 21 members and another RC nearby has 14. I am staying in the block whose RC has a 21 members. So pack! Not sure will stand a chance to be an Executive Member after being an observer

I think yes, got quota, saw it in one of message. Tink 30 per RC, if I din remember wrongly.

Go to school:
just realized that I am already an executive member since July. :celebrate:

Hi

Since your girl is registering for 2014 P1 and now you are an EM which serves 2-years term, you will get automatically as an EM after the end of 2-yrs term (Year 2012)?

I just got my letter, and glad to see that they appt me before 30 June. Luckily told my chairman beforehand that the date is important to me, otherwise my appt date will be in Aug. Phew.

Thanks to all.
Congrat.

Saw that Phase 2B for Rulang even needs to ballot for the past 2 years. You will be taking a risk of spending alot of time in RC works and still not able to get into the school?!?
