Actually to get confirmed as Executive Member is not that difficult. It actually depends on whether the RC Chairman or CC staff in charge (Assistant Constituency Manager) is willing to help.

Is there a quota per RC? I saw 1 RC has 21 members and another RC nearby has 14. I am staying in the block whose RC has a 21 members. So pack! Not sure will stand a chance to be an Executive Member after being an observer

I think yes, got quota, saw it in one of message. Tink 30 per RC, if I din remember wrongly.

          Go to school:
just realized that I am already an executive member since July. :celebrate:

          Hi

Since your girl is registering for 2014 P1 and now you are an EM which serves 2-years term, you will get automatically as an EM after the end of 2-yrs term (Year 2012)?

I just got my letter, and glad to see that they appt me before 30 June. Luckily told my chairman beforehand that the date is important to me, otherwise my appt date will be in Aug. Phew.

            Thanks to all.
            Congrat.

Saw that Phase 2B for Rulang even needs to ballot for the past 2 years. You will be taking a risk of spending alot of time in RC works and still not able to get into the school?!?

Thanks. Possible too. Most of the popular schools need ballot. Past Stat, Rulang ballot only beyond 2KM in phase 2B, hopefully next year follows the same way. We r in 1-2km, so w/o volunteering, we dun even hv a chance to ballot. However, 2005 babies more than 2004, so worried now. Mind to share which yr ideal school.

Each term for the committe member is 2 years. If volunteer for 2-3 years earlier, what if the P1 registration required is 3 years later? Will one still able to continue in the RC committe after the 1st term so that he can still be a GRL in the 2nd term?

For example, my child P1 registraton is Year 2013 Jun. I apply for RC now and if am lucky enough, get into the Executive Member to serve from 1 Apr 2011 - 31 Mar 2013. What is the chances of getting on the 2nd term (1 Apr 2013 - 31 Mar 2015) so that I am still eligible for Phase 2B during the registration exercise in 2013?[/quote]

If you are active in your RC, the extension of term is normally done. I have been an EC for my committee for more than 3 terms already.

Mine is not a 2 yrs term. Mine start fm June 2010 to Aug 2011, they must hv been backdated mine. Not necessary the observer period is about 4-5 mths, my friend got her only about 2 yrs times, not too sure whether PR affect this.

And not to forget the 1 yr as an EM, observer not counted. Tat's why volunteer earlier if choose this route.
OIC... usually they will accept EM in mid term... cos' there will be inactive members.
Just curious why yours is till Aug... unless the different zones have different calender years? Cos' my committee new term starts from Feb.

Guess those inactive member will start to disappear after Jul/Aug when the P1 registration ends? So after 3-4 months, new EM can be accepted

                      Typically...
Why are some EM inactive? Dun tell... Dun ask...
Why you join RC? Dun ask... Dun tell...
